Hey EZ - Someone asked me about the vent valve ( tipover?) on a 2004 Blast and whether mine was replaced. Was that a serrvice bulletin or a recall. I never heard anything about it. Thanks |

NHTSA Campaign ID: 04V365000 Component: Fuel system, Gasoline Manufacturer: Buell Year: 2004 Make: Buell Model: Blast Recall Date: 07/23/2004 Potential Number of Units Affected: 656 Manufactured: Defect Summary: On certain motorcycles, the valve which was designed to allow air to replace fuel in the tank during operation could malfunction thereby starving the engine for fuel. Consequence Summary: This situation could cause the vehicle to shut down without warning, which could lead to a crash, causing the possibility of death or injury. Corrective Summary: Buell will replace the vent valve. The recall is expected to begin during August 2004. Owners should contact Buell at 414-343-8400. |

Sure - I'd call Buell customer service first to see if your bike is part of the recall though - only 656 units where affected. EZ |
