Spec, we're trailering up as I'm buying a "new to me" bike there. I plan on riding Saturday afternoon, staying the night, riding Sunday and returning home Sunday evening. 910 783 5133 (Message edited by rubberdown on March 11, 2008) |

What a rant, Spike. Thanks. I also hope next time we can have larger attendance and more planning time. I do understand why alot of C3ers couldn't make it. I will keep pushing to get more sportbike/Buell events because that is a personal goal of mine. I am just glad to see I am getting more support here at the dealership and that will only improve as we as Buellers show we appreciate the efforts being made. |

Hey Mike, you keep it up, Man. Anytime I'm around I'll come to a party. If anybody else from Ray Price is reading this ...THANK YOU FOR YOUR EFFORTS! Just because circumstances got in the way this time, it doesn't mean we're not on board. If I had not been at the 200, I would have been at RP Buell/HD. |

Thanks for the support everyone. As I said, I understand why alot of C3ers couldn't make it. I am sorry about the time crunch we had to deal with. In order to help with the success of future events, I have started a thread on our sponsor page to get some ideals. Feel free to post as you wish. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/171 43/342965.html?1205249051 |

MTB, I echo everyones sentiments, mainly what Spike proposed about having more 'race parties'. Unfortunately I was out on the S2 doing the legwork on getting some stuff done for the XT and getting the S2 inspected. Unfortunately the V-Rod will need a back tire to pass inspection, but the good news is it shipped today. Keep up the good work! Things take time. Unfortunately even with advanced warning I still probably wouldn't have been able to make it. Hell, as I posted in the RP Sponsor section, for some reason I thought it was on Sunday. Yeah, I know, stupid me - I was at the 200 2 years ago and I know it was on Saturday. For the next RP Buell doings, I will be there! Of course, barring any travel for work or other Buell happenings. U4euh, I finally got a package off to you. Sorry for my delay! Let me know when you get it and we can discuss the 'donor' that you offered during the weekend of the 9 to 12 conversion - the weekend that will live in infamy! Webe, As I am typing this the sponsor banner is the Patriot Guard Riders! I don't think I mentioned this, but when I flew home for Xmas and got 'stranded' in Philly for multiple hours I stepped outside to get some 'fresh air' and about 100 Patriot Guard Riders went by welcoming a brother in arms home after his tour of duty in Iraq. It was pretty damn cool, with a police escort and everything. 1313 |

I think Ray Price's 06 Demo Uly is about to be sold. |

Huh? Are you buying another '06? For what it's worth- the tranny on their demo '06 shifts _way_ better than the tranny on my '07. |

No, but the potential buyer sent me mail on ADV and wanted to know if Ray Price was a good place to deal with. |

Correction, it's not the demo bike, it's a black one that came in on trade. |

For what it's worth- the tranny on their demo '06 shifts _way_ better than the tranny on my '07. Hmm, I'm sure thats because of the delicate and careful manner people use when shifting the demo bike. Have you adjusted the primary chain and checked the oil level in there? |

The fluid has been changed and the level is up to the bottom of the clutch spring, which should be close enough. I've been tinkering with the primary chain adjustment- first going to what I thought was the correct tension, then experimenting with going tighter and looser. So far the transmission remains notchy/clunky, especially when going into 3rd gear from either direction. It is also inconsistent, sometimes shifting takes more effort than other times. On its best days it's on par with my '04 tranny, but no better. For a while I started thinking the problem was just in my head and that '06 trannies hadn't improved as much as I had thought, but then I spent a day riding the '06 demo. The demo tranny was flat out slick compared to mine and would click off clutchless upshifts (with proper throttle control) flawlessly. I am now convinced that something unpleasant happened to my '07 in the ~4900 miles before I took ownership. |

Nah, I know my sporty is clunky, and I have ridden a bunch of others, and each one is completely different, from clunky to effortless...after seeing the inside of the tranny I am convinced it is just it's nature in the fact it was designed int he 50s |

I know my '06 is so much better shifting than the '99 M2. If you shift the M2 easy the tranny does great. If you rush it you end up finding false neutrals. |

Sporty, The XB shifting mechanism is WILDLY different from the tubers and older XL's. I didn't realize until U4euh's engine swap, myself. Based on the fact that all the bolts are in their proper location ('cuz all the bolts are the same length, right Jim?) I believe these are pics of Jim's old 984 engine.
Quite a bit different than the old XL's star wheel, huh? As for the '08 XT, it shifts like butter! 1313 |

yeah, especially as I have eaten up a couple of star wheels. i was thinking more of the entire tranny. that shifter mechanism still looks like something that is just waiting to fail... would still be interesting to see. |

How can that transmission be so clean? Isn't it full of splashing oil? |

Jim R. or anyone, have you ever cross referenced the fuel injectors for the XB's? We are trying to tune Jordan'S race bike. We have the up rated pressure regulator, but are still running out of ability to add more fuel on the top. Our values are maxed out. If we could locate higher flow injectors, we could get a few more HPs on top end. He is already at 110hp. |

Mike didnt someone post awhile back that they are ford injectors. If so a bigger injector should be easy to find. |

Yup, I bought the Uly today. Had them change the tank plastic to the yeller one cuz I liked that better. OTD with warranty was just over 8k with my trade. 4400 miles on the xb12x. Here it is.
