I was at one so far and that was by accident. I was working undercover in a bar and two of my old classmates walked in..."hey heibs, how it going?"....then two more....then 4 more. I was working my 5th year class reunion. | ||

I went to my 5 year reunion. I made a total ass of myself, saw some of my buddies and again quickly lost contact with everyone. One of my buddies I saw at the 5 year reunion died from drugs and another buddy that wasn't there I found 20+ years after graduation. He then hooked up with a crack ••••• and disappeared off the face of the earth, his mother didn't even know where he was. I wish I would have done more with myself during high school and college. I think that if I found out about any other high school reunions I would go. | ||

5 year reunion: Everyone is still as immature as they were in high school or college. 10 year reunion: most are starting to "grow up" 15: didn't go 20: true personalities are now showing, drunks are drunk all the time, nice people are really nice. The biggest change I saw was the maturity level. 98% have been married, had kids, steady job (for the most part), some (a lot) divorced, 5 or 6 dead in 20 years. I graduated with 175 other students in "small town america". (Population 2,000) Funny part was my class was one of the biggest in the school history.  My wife of 18 years graduated in a class of over 1000 and has never been to a class reunion. | ||

I have been to all of mine but one. Every fifth year that calculates to....ah.....five out of six. My wife and I graduated together so I kinda have to go, but I enjoy it. I had a lot of good friends there. Some of the funnest things after thirty years is seeing who went bald(male or female), who never left home, how the best looking have really gone down the other way, how some homely ones totally came around, how some bright ones amounted to little, some not so bright ones have totally excelled in life. I have found many that wouldn't show up for reasons like; I got too fat and would be embarrassed, I never have gone anywhere or done anything interesting, I didn't amount to what was expected of me, I have a looser job and my kids are on drugs, and my favorite; my welfare check won't be here for another week so I can't make it. It amazes me how thirty years later so many bets would have been lost, even the ones on me! One of the best things to happen at one, is one of the girls(ladies) left her camera in the kitchen of the hall we were using. Three of my old buddy's and I picked up her camera, dropped drawers and photographed the moons for her. We put the camera back where it was. Five years later as a group we asked her if she brought her camera with her. She said "yeah why?" When we started grinning she got all red in the face and finally figured out her five year old mystery. Uh, that was our twentieth year reunion, some things never get old! I worked in the Theater (mostly backstage) for a while and they send me invites to show reunions too. My Mrs would want to come along too - some of the people from those days are still friends - but I get quite uncomfortable in the company of girls that I had....girls that I.....was friendly with - before I met the co-pilot. You know what I mean. And in one show there were like four of them. Hey it WAS the 70's. So I just don't go.  (Message edited by danger_dave on March 11, 2008) | ||

DD, That was a bit strange for me going there "knowing" some of the other ladies too. But for me that is also where my wife is from. Ahhhhh the 70's, I think I remember some of it well. | ||

As far as my class reunion organizers are concerned, I died. I really don't care if I ever see anyone from my class again. I didn't keep up with a single person from High School. Well I do see my ex-girlfriend every week. It's not that I hated them or anything. I just didn't have anything in common with them after High School. | ||

After highschool, I left town, changed my name, joined the military and never went back.... Until I was contacted by a couple of my friends to head the reunion committee. (Because if it failed they knew I wouldnt care) It was great to see the six friends that I have kept in touch with all along. The rest of the weekend reminded me of exactly why I left town. | ||

i had to miss my high school one due to being in grad school orientation week. i've been to my college 5 and 10 years - great times. i will go to my grad school ones when they come up. i'm a big fan, allows me a chance to see people and friends that its virtually impossible to keep up with in everyday life. though tools such as email and facebook definitely help you connect more. D | ||

This summer it will be 33 years since I graduated and left the Washington D.C. area. Going to school with Katie Couric and a lot of other snotty two faced pricks is not something I miss one bit. (Message edited by J.ramsey on March 12, 2008) | ||

Somehow or another, over the past couple years, I've reconnected with 8 gals and 3 guys who I went to high school with. After 35 years it's really interesting to get reacquainted and in many ways it was like we'd never lost a moment. We all caught up quickly and they are all amazing folks. We were a graduating class of about 750 . . . time flies!  | ||

I lost interest in reunions at the point all of the hot chicks had hyphenated last names.  Graduation class was 357, freshman class was much bigger 4 years earlier. My High School in Central Denver had a drop out rate of 45%.  | ||

I went to my 40th reunion a few years ago, the beautiful people, for the most part, were still beautiful. A lot of old people whom I didn't recognize. It was sort of fun. The 50th reunion is in two years and I am hoping and praying to go to that one. | ||

I went to my 30th, I guess it was almost 5 years ago. Some hadn't changed that much, were instantly recognizable. Lot of people didn't recognize or remember me, people I'd talked to every day. I wound up sitting for dinner with a guy that used to bully me around the gym, he became an accountant, I guess that's punishment enough. The homecoming King became a salesman of paper products and janitorial supplies. The homecoming queen had died of cancer. Found out a couple folks live right here in the bay area. Didn't keep up with anybody from high school at all before that, and haven't reconnected or kept up with any since the reunion. Still, not really a waste of time/money, just...hard to say I would go again. Guess I'm glad I did, just to see. My class had about 745 but the 30th reunion only had about 135 or so. | ||

I had never been to a reunion before I went to my 20th; an all encompassing reunion for every graduating class in the history of the high school (which has been closed down for some time now). The only reason I went to my 20th was because my sister made a big point of dragging me there. She graduated from the same school a year after me. It was great seeing what happened to everyone. It pretty much mimics what everyone else said, so there's nothing I have to repeat, except that... I was looking pretty damn good! Only about 120 were in my graduating class, so it was great seeing all the seniors from when I was freshman, and all the freshmen from when I was a senior. The best part was this girl I had been in love with since the 6th grade. We never did the hook-up in high school, but at the reunion, she was all over me for the whole night. She was still as beautiful as I always remembered her. That did wonders for my ego. The reunion was everything I thought it would be and more. I loved every minute of it. I wasn't a big man on campus in high school, but I had a ball the whole time I went and I was shocked at all the people that remembered me (not for the best reasons, either!). I don't intend on going to another one. I enjoyed seeing the people that were just older versions of the same people they were 20 years ago and that was a good and bad thing. The smug feeling I got seeing some of the stupid jerks I knew struggling with responsibilities of adulthood was not something I found admirable in myself. I did allow myself one night of glee, though. | ||

I went to my 5 eyar last year and was surprised to see that most of the people who went remembered me or, at leat, my antics. A 16/17 with a 69 Mach 1 made some impressions in memories and blacktop... There were a couple of girls that I really liked in school, but were out of my league were interested. They had kids and were divorced. I refuse to be the fallback guy. I'm like a benchwarmer for women. | ||

we didn't have a 5 yr. 10 yr was last summer and was eerily similar to HS. all the groups kept to themselves at the reunion. one of the guys that was known for his parties had a party at his dads house. just like in HS, people from all the separate groups showed up and everyone got along with everyone. then we all went our separate ways. just like HS. | ||

graduating class of 66 people. Got to love rural america. I've seen alot of them and still keep in touch with my friends. missed the 5 year and the 10 year since no on in our class could get their $h*t together though. Maybe the 15 (2009) we will have one... | ||

My motor-bike riding buddies from get-high school(mid 70's) are still my riding/fishing and all around up to no good buddies today. Shoot most of us married our high school sweeties. We have mini reunions(non oficial) all the time, why jest last weekend we piled in our cars and invaded/took over a local eatery. I don't never get the invite to my class thingies, I wonder if it has anything to do with long hair, motorcycles, sex, drugs and general misbehaving Ha Ha. Those were the daze my friend.They better hope I never find out when the next one is. |
