I wanted to stay at the Deals Gap hotel but they didn't have smoke free rooms. I'm staying at the Fontana Inn. Rooms are getting scarce, I had to settle for a more expensive room with fireplace and fridge, neither of which I'll use. |

I think I am going to opt for the campgrounds at fontana again this year. I won't spend anytime in a room anyway!! lasttime it was, breakfast, ride, lunch, ride, dinner, ride, passout. gourgeous view at the bottom of a TVA damn there in the morning. |

Well it looks like a weekend to me. Has anyone called Deals Gap motorcycle resort to see if rooms are still available? Had a good time riding with the DC and Maryland boys last year. Ed"Hillbilly"Manning |

José...I'm a bit confused (as usual)...Are you and Linda staying at Rob and Leslie's Deal's Gap Motorcycle Resort or at Fontana Village?... On another note...I have been in constant email contact with Bob Mackie, the Aussie who is planning on attending...He has tried to rent a Buell to no success...Does anyone have any thinght's regarding this?...I'm at my wits end but I kinda hate to see him on these roads riding a rental cruiser... See Ya! Bob |

We're staying at Deals Gap resort. It has it's plusses and minuses, but I figured we did FOntana so we'll do Deals Gap this time. There should be some people going down there with more than one Buell in their trailer, maybe we can let him "borrow" one........ |

I'm not aware of anybody renting Buells, other than Blasts. Maybe BMC/BRAG can hook him up since he's coming from so far away???????? |

That's great José...John and I are also at DGMR...We will be arriving on Thursday, the 12th and departing ??? but at least not until Monday, the 16th... As to Bob's "borrowing" a Buell, that's what I kinda hoped will happen...Since, as far as I know, no one from Ma Buell will be attending, I don't think that's an option...I'll talk to Leslie re this and get back... See Ya! Bob |

John...This should be looked into...There tours talk about rental Harley's but show sport bikes in the pic...They say arrive and go pick up your H-D but they also say rental bikes are available...I wonder if these would be the sport scoots...Mail is on the way...Thanks John... |

This is taken directly from www.buell.com "Deal's Gap Regional Adventure September 13-15, Deal's Gap, NC As you can see by the recap in the 2001 BRAG Adventures Archive, Buell owners had a fantastic time at the Deal's Gap BRAG Adventure. Two BRAG clubs, St. Louis Club and DC Club, have offered to organize a regional adventure in Western NC/Northern GA, just south of Deal's Gap, on September 13-15. The event will have a Friday night barbecue at Deal's Gap Motorcycle Resort and a Saturday night dinner at Fontana Village. Rooms are blocked off at both locations. You will not need to register with national BRAG for this event, since it is a regional adventure. Instead, call the host hotels to reserve your spot for dinner and/or lodging: Deal's Gap Motorcycle Resort, 800-889-5550 and Fontana Village, 800-849-2258, and mention the BRAG block of rooms. These rooms were released to the public June 28, but call the hotels to see if any are still available" To what Leslie has written I would like to emphasize that it is very important that you call both places to make a dinner reservation...It is the only way in which they will know how many to expect... See Ya! Bob |

Greg et al...If any of you have trouble registering for the Fontana dinner please ask for Brandy...She is the catering manager and is the one that needs to tip off the front desk...I'll call her again tomorrow myself... Damn, it's so hot here that about the only riding that's tolerable is at night...Last night I rode until about 2 a.m...As I was coming south through Eureka Mo, which is the closest little town to our house, I thought to myself that I had not seen a sobriety check in a few months and low and behold as I crested the next hill there it was...I was chuckling to myself as I rolled up to the county sheriff and explained the thought that had just passed through my mind and he just laughed and said "drive safely sir" and off I rolled...They had about six or seven cars impounded and in the process of being towed...Man, it's just not worth it to drink drive... See Ya! Bob |

Got my cabin at Fontana Village. A buddy (at least one, anyway) and I are riding down from Michigan for this. Missed it last year, and I struck out again with both touring adventures this year, so I'm itching for a good ride. I notice a name was mentioned for the dinner Saturday at Fontana to contact. Anyone in particular that should be spoken to at the DGMR regarding the Friday night dinner there? Bryan |

I've tried to contact the elusive Brandy for 3 days.I've left messages on her voice mail twice, with no responce.Today I asked the switchboard to connect me with someone who could register me for a catered dinner.I was transfered to the non english speaking woman in the restaurant, who handed me off to a woman who informed me that there are 108 people registered for the regional BRAG event, but when pressed to register me for the dinner Saturday night, had no clue. Mike, I had the same problems the first time I called. The 2nd time I asked the switchboard to connect me with Brandi, they instead decided I needed to speak with the help at the Peppercorn resaturant. I told the woman who answered the phone there...NO, I WANT TO SPEAK WITH YOUR BOSS...BRANDI. I finally got thru that way. I dont know why it has to be so damn hard. You call & ask about the BRAG dinner & everyone is like HUH???? |

LOL...well, I tried calling DGMR and got their answering machine, hopefully someone will call me back soon and I can inform them of my imminent arrival. When I tried Fontana Village I was transferred to someone who didn't speak English much at all, asked for Brandy, and was informed that she didn't work there any more. Not sure if that's true or not, but I ended up with someone named Margaret who at least knew what I was referring to, so it's all good. Can anyone tell me what the charge at these dinners will be (if any)? Thanks, Bryan |
