Oh you basterds... It's about time for the chili cook-off in Anza Borrego isn't it? Seems like that was a springtime thing, but it was a long time ago, might be summer... That's weird, my first thought was the paint on the muffler. I had to go out to the garage and look... My whole muffler is black. The welds also look nicer and I am starting to hate all youse guys with tips that point the same direction. Mine look like I feel after a pint of Wild Turkey. Z | ||

I finally picked mine up this week (#292)and took a nice 35 mile ride Friday. Glad to say I am really well pleased and have none of the various quirks that some of the guys are experiencing. Battery read 12.02v. when I picked it up so I put it on the Battery Tender until a day later. Fully charged when I went for a ride. I checked the charging voltage before and after the ride. 14+ volts in both cases. Upon returning bat.v. read 12.82 as it should have. No stalls, hesitations, hiccups, etc. Ran perfect and I'm at 4200 ft elevation. Outside temp. 55 degrees and no heat related problems at all. Motor ran at 175-180 degrees. I varied the rpm's from 2500( no stumbling at all) to 6000 with some rapid acceleration and deceleration. Flawless. I did not notice any heat on my feet or body. Muffler sound is just right so I probably will not change that. Needless to say engine power is very good compared to my M2 but not as overwhelming as an in-line four is. I'm sure that will be greater when rpm limit is over from break-in. I believe its all anybody needs for the street. I added my own rear license plate holder and muffler turn out tips, which I'll post soon. Nothing but fun, fun, fun. Well worth the wait. Now for some good weather and ride, ride, ride, change oil, repeat.  | ||

Had a nice ride with the Southern California Area Buellers (SCAB) on Sunday. I am about 80 miles more till break in is done. Bought my oil and filter the day I picked the bike up. Really loving this bike so far. | ||

 I purchased my 1125 almost a month ago , I had it delivered on March 1'st ,yesterday was 70* , and my first ride.....OMG!!! (keep in mind today is 29* ,freezing rain and snow... again ) I love this bike , I can only imagine what it's like after break in !!! It's hard to believe how much fun I'm having , and all while keeping it under 6000 rpm's . I love the smooth power , and torque , the way she handles , the front brake , suspension , the fun factor , I have'nt ridden many sportbike's to compare the fairing to , but did enjoy the way it seemed to cut thru the winds we had along with the warm weather. I put on about 55 - 60 miles , I was smiling from ear to ear , I have'nt enjoyed myself this much since i was like 7 years old and my Dad got me my first bike , a Honda QA50 , and I had a rut worn around the perimeter of our yard . The bike seem's deceptive when it comes to acceleration , you can feel the power and torque , but before you know it , your going way.. way .....Way faster than you think , and I was worried about keeping up with traffic limited to 6000 rev's .  Waiting for the next break in the weather is gonna be grueling . I'm not trying to write my own review or something , I just wanted to post all the positive things about this bike !!! | ||

Ok so I picked up my 1125r today. Yesterday the temp was 58 and sunny but the dealer was waiting on paperwork from H-D Credit. Forecast Friday and Sat Rain! I took the day off, aches and pains from flu. Dealer calls me at 9:30am and asks me if I want to pick up the new bike. I checked the weather and had a 3 hour window with no rain and the temps were about 45. I told the dealer I needed to get in and out quick due to the weather and being sick. I was out of the dealer in 15 min. and felt pretty good on the ride home. I really missed the attack riding position of my Firebolt. Riding the Ulysses for the last three years I really got used to the relaxed riding position. I was a little crunched up on the 1125R but felt very comfortable after about ten min. Nice bike, I can’t wait till I have it broke in and really test it out! It started to sprinkle about a mile from home.  | ||

I like when you turn the key on it beeps at you. Sounds all modern.  Got mine at Route 66 Buell in Tulsa, OK yesterday. It was the most painless buying experience I ever had. The guys were great and I was out the door in no time. Plus, I paid MSRP for the bike and that included all doc fees, prep and setup, shipping etc. Basically no BS. One question... Did we ever figure out what kind of oil comes in the bike? Syn 3 or regular HD? Owners manual says either can be used. | ||

Pretty sure the consensus was , it ships with HD 20-50 Dino. That's hearsay tho. Whatever it was, it worked OK for break-in. I had a bit of very fine metal dust on my magnet-plug when I did the first change. No slivers or chunks, just very fine dust, that smeared black, not shiny metallic at all. Just what I would expect from a good Dino-break-in. At 500 miles, I replaced with HD 20-50. At the first service the oil was clear, so at 620 miles I switched it to Syn3. Getting close to time to do it again, what with the Arctic riding I've been doing. Zack | ||

Lots of new owners recently! Took mine out for the first time today. Holy cow, she felt strong and fast UNDER 6K. I can't wait to feel it past that once its broke it. I even had the front wheel off the ground a few times under 6K. This thing is gonna be a monster. I went ahead and changed the oil when I got back and was glad I did. I discovered with the HOT check that my motor was overfilled too.  Plus, with only 50 miles on it I couldn't believe the greenish/brown crap that came out. I don't know what kind of oil they put in there, but it looked kinda funny. It probably doesn't hurt to change the oil sooner, rather then later. Also, I'm not sure it is possible to change the oil on these things without making a big mess. I need to go buy a big plastic tray that is about 3" deep to put under the whole bike. lol One note, a lot of people have complained about a weak rear brake and it is indeed weaker then the one on the XB's. I wonder if it has to do with the exhaust blowing directly on the brake line (mostly) and also on the disc (somewhat). Also, (I have never ridden an 1125R before) am I hearing the fans come on at about 170 degrees? The big front fairing has really grown on me and it performs well. Lots of protection. I have the touring seat on, as well as the Lightning (lower) footpegs. This bike is very comfy and I am 6'-4". Got back and put it on the battery tender and it turned to green within 15 min. I am confident everything is charging. Gotta get used to the clutch. Its a bit different then the cable one on the XB's. Not a problem though. Oh, the exhaust. I think it sounds pretty good for stock. Has a good growl starting at 4K. I'll probably think of more, but that is what comes to my mind right now. Good job Buell! | ||

Whoo Hooo, finished breaking mine in today and changed the oil/filter. I am going to enjoy wringing it out now. Got my 1" lower pegs coming from Al at American Sport Bike and the Corbin seat is on order. | ||

Krash, If they are the Buell 1" lower pegs, you will have to file them down just a little bit to make them fit perfectly. Put one on real quick without the spring and you will see what I mean. | ||

Ccryder, I picked up a file set from Lowes for $10. Had all sorts of sizes and shapes included. Basically, put the "S" pegs on with no spring. You will see that they do not rotate all the way down (flat) because the peg has some extra material on it that is interfering with the mounting location. I filed about 1/8" off two areas on each peg, then the fit perfectly. Took less then 10 minutes. | ||

These are the 9184 - Billet XB Footpeg Base, with 1’’ drop with 16065 - LSL CNC Billet Footpegs, Round Race Legal Style. According to Al at American Sport Bike they also need a litte filing to get them to fit. What really burns me is I had a set of the billet footpeg mounts but sold after deciding to part out my XB9S instead of fixing it. Oh well just have to buy them again. | ||

I got mine March 4th. Traded in my beloved XB9SX  . She was my daily commuter rain or shine. Now the R is going to fill that roll. Did the tankbag swap but the saddlebags were not wide enough so I got a new tail pack. It rained one day last week and it was a little sketchy as it seems the Diablo Corsa tires don't like water as much as Scorpion Syncs do. I'll be swapping a set of scorpion syncs when winter arrives.......... -Mark- | ||

Hi Rcrboy I hear the michlin pilot powers are real good for the rain and track, they are suppose to have a real good lean angle in the rain, I am thinking of getting them for My 1125R, how did you like the Scorpion Syncs? do you get good mileage out of them? and do you think they would be good on the 1125R? I also ride year round and need new tires for my sons ulysses and swapping rims so I am thinking of the pilot powers for my tires and the Scorpion Syncs for the ulysses tires, I Ride in New England year round but am using my Buell Blast for cold weather riding and getting dirt street tires 90/10 and studs from Aerostich, I just found out a couple of month ago that they have special studs now for street to dirt tires, the blast will heat my heated gear but the 1125R will not, so I will set up the blast for my winter riding. I love the Scorpion sync tires!!  Excellent wet weather grip. I was getting about 6K miles a set on my XB9SX. I'd expect to get a little less on the R but I put 25000 miles on the SX so I know the Syncs pretty well by now. So I'm just gonna stick with what I know a far as the wet stuff goes...........
