From the center of Blairsville to TWO is 21 miles, 37 minutes - about distance and time to run The Loop from TWO - and you get to take Wolfpen Gap to and from!!! I haven't heard back on the other two places yet. One of them is about 3 miles north of TWO on Wolfpen Gap. |

One of them is about 3 miles north of TWO on Wolfpen Gap. That would be my choice! I liked being close to wolf pen as it is mY fAVoRITe rOAd} |

It would be preferable yes...but I haven't heard back from them yet. I also haven't heard from HVC in NY yet either so still don't know how big of a place we need. *********************************** HEY - ANYBODY ELSE COMING??? I need a head count if I'm going to be doing the planning here...don't whine if your in a tent in the back yard 'cause a big enough place wasn't reserved. ALSO - the more the cheaper!!! gas, house, more drivers = more sleep...etc...etc...etc...} |

I wouldn't worry too much about HVC. They have Mike working on it. If we can find a place with them then great. If that place down the street from TWO can only hold us than let's take it. The guys from NH are suppose to come too but they should speak up. No need to hold hands here, we're all big boys.................. well you probably have to hold Eric's hand, he might crash & fall if you don't. |

That is why I crash! You all holding my hand all the time while I ride.... I have come to the conclusion that I need to keep 2 hands on the bars.....or I will fall and go BOOOOM! |

Here is what I have found for options (within 10 miles of TWO): Morning Mist Cabin, on WPG road, not sure if it's available and cost on web says $170 for 2 nights. called tonight and left a message http://www.jwww.com/adkins/ Quaint Mountain Cabin, on 60 5 miles north of TWO, $90.95/night (includes tax) up to 5 people +$5.00/night/person over 5 people. http://www.suchescabinrentals.com/brookshire/ Rustic Cabin, on 60 in Suches (not better location sorry), $100.00/night, sleeps up to 10 people so could be real cheap if we get more than 4 people. Also has locking area for bikes under the house in the back...make sure you check out the cabin and not the house. http://suchescabinrentals.com/trout/ Deerview Cabin, 10 miles north from TWO off of 60, $195 for 3 nights, NO TV!!! http://cabin.laminack.com/index.html Suches Valley Cabin, 1 mile north from TWO on WPG Road $300 for 3 nights for 4 people (rates up to 6 people) http://www.suchescabinrentals.com/valleycabin/ |

What is up w/ T.W.O.? Was that not an option? I would like to keep Home Base close to the action if possible. I really don't care where we stay as long as it is close to Wolf Pen... |

I started looking at cabins due to the expected high volume of people that will be at TWO - lots of tent space but very little parking space - especially with most people trailering. I just got a call back from Morning Mist Cabin and it is already booked. Suches Cabin is still available and only 1 mile from TWO on Wolf Pen Gap (WPG) road. Shall we hang our hats on getting space at TWO or shall I book Suches Cabin today? Speak up people!!! |

Suches Valley Cabin is BOOKED! Check in March 27, check out March 30 I booked it for 5 people (Froggy mentioned he may stay with us) so that leaves room for 1 more (or two if the HVC guys end up elsewhere). |

If we have 6 in the cabin that comes to 57.50 each for a place to stay. Gas depends on who is driving and how many are in the truck... Gas for the bike down there won't be much - maybe 30-50 bucks for the three days of riding. I plan on bringing food to cook for breakfast and dinner so that will only mean finding food for lunch...and munchies of course. I figure I can through the weekend with 500-600 total. |

I can fit two bikes on my trailer and my truck is now all fixed up so it's ready to go. Tons more get up and go with the supercharger working when it's supposed to and the exhaust all fixed up...it's almost like brand new!!! I've already got Scotty's bike on my trailer and we are planning a quick stop on the way to Suches in Toccoa GA to see the Currahee museam (Band of Brothers, WW2) on Thursday morning, and maybe get to the top of Currahee for a photo op...his wife served in that unit before and did her jump school there. We are planning on skipping out of work at noon on the 26 and heading out ASAP!!! I plan on driving through the night...Scotty may still be thinking about stopping at a hotel for sleep...we'll get that hashed out soon enough. I do have to be home in time to get my sorry tired sore a$$ to work on the following Monday so we WILL be driving straight through on the way home. |

More on bike transport... I MIGHT be able to fit a third...once my bike is back together I'll head to Scottys for a test fit...he has a 'spare' XB9 sitting in the garage for when his wife gets home. I'll post up the results. I think Eric said he could fit three on the back of his truck (got that panel all welded up yet Eric?). I know Chuck can fit two in the back of his pickup... So - there we have a theoretical 8 bike capacity...I think we'll be able to get you there. |

Hey ahhhhh...is anybody else thinking about hitting the Dragon on Friday? I planning to do the Dragon/Cherahola loop on Friday...I missed it in October. I also have a work aquiantance trying to meet up there on Friday...former track racer NOT a sales call! Then we could hang out around TWO and WPG all day Saturday. |

If you can't drag a knee on a bike you won't be doing it on a scooter, unless you crash...That is the only time I can drag one anyways.. I am in for all rides when we leave, I want to leave home, drive straight thru, get there and ride for the entire time, and drive home. That is my game plan! I ordered have some Pirelli Dragon Corsa Pro Tires on the way. Hope they get to me quicker than chucks tires....
easy there Jim...Don't get to excited |
