How much slack is in everyones throttle control? Mine seems excessive with about 1/4 to 3/8 inches of play. I'll have to get it checked when I get the first service. |

I always adjust mine tight and on the highway on the ulysses I had I could adjust this with my fingers and would adjust it to hold the throttle in place. all you have to do is just twist the adjuster out to it will hold, same idea of a throttle lock but a little harder to do. I would adjust it your self and just turn the handlebars lock to lock to make sure the throttle snaps back and when it does not back of a little to it does, very simple to do just make sure it comes back for both sides lock to lock, I have mine with very little movement before it starts to give gas. but everyone is different so adjust it to it feels good to you. I would like less than a 1/4" free-play. The demo I rode had well over 1/4", probably even over 3/8". If mine has over a 1/4" the Tech will be fixing that B4 I ride away. Neil S. |

Thanks Mike, I'll have to do that next time I take her out. |

The final test for me is that if I turn the bars from lock to lock, the engine does not pick up RPM. Most bikes I had will pick up in RPM in the lock to lock test if you adjust all the slack out of the cables. Mike's "on the highway" method might work but won't allow you to close the throttle or slow the engine to idle quickly. You can pull the clutch in if it is an emergency of sorts but then the unloaded engine will race. Jack (Message edited by jackbequick on March 07, 2008) |

Hey on my uly it would go right to idle I would twist it back. it worked just like a throttle lock did, but on the 1125R I do not advise it because I do it when on the highway and getting at it is easy on the ulysses but I do not think I can be done on my 1125, I am getting a throttle lock from dark hours and has a slider on it if you go down, I am getting the whole set from them for my bike.
