Just bought 2000 X1 lighting. Now i'm waiting on warmer weather. How cold does it have to be for your bike to stay in the garage? |

I let my wife have her way (of course) so as soon as she says it's warm enough outside I move the bike into the garage from the dining room. |

If I had one where I lived about 120 f and below when not in use ... the cold will kill a weak and or dieing battery and can even freez it, have you considered what the elements will do to the finished parts ? perhaps another good reason to garage it. |

my x1 has been in the shed all winter, my battery was fresh last year and it fires right up, cold oil take a long time to drain lol. of course i couldnt warm it up because my front isolator is off due to a busted f911 bolt! |

If the sun is out and it is above 30F, I will pull the S3 out of the garage and let it warm itself in the sun (triple black) for awhile before starting it up. I only take short rides of about 30 minutes as the roads are bad and I don't have all of the proper gear for winter riding, but I do try to get it out once a month instead of laying it up for the winter. |

I don't leave the house on my bike if there is ice on the road. Also, our batteries can't freeze due to their being AGM and not liquid electrolyte. |

I ride my S2 year round with heated jacket and gloves. Been out in 12 degrees on it, no issues at all other than wonky handling from cooooold tires (and roads). Warmup time increases from 90 seconds to about five minutes when it's below freezing, but other than that...I just ride it. And my FLHP, which I have to get reacquainted with soon due to my knee surgery. Doc says "no Buell...but the HD is OK". Humph. |
