A week or so ago I spotted a Blast for sale at a muffler shop. Long story short, it's now in my garage. It's a 2000 model with just over 3000 miles. It looks as if about half of those miles were spent on one side or another! The bad: Some frame rash (very fixable). All 4 turn signals rashed, broken or gone. No flyscreen. Worn tires. Lead pipe of stock exhaust "replaced" at the muffler shop. Middle-school-level welding, natch. Regulator needs replacement (thanks to BadWeb for diagnostic help). The good: Runs well (after fixing exhaust leak). Oil level was full and somewhat clean (with a K&N oil filter, no less). Remaining bodywork is painted (quite nicely, I might add) a gorgeous pearl-orange color. No apparent rocker box leaks. She thinks it's hers... hehehehe... Oh, the plans...  Not bad for $900, huh? | ||

My best deal I got from a friend Ryan - you can see his bike in the first SLO Ride - 500 bucks because loss of interest - passed the deal over to another friend in the SFMC - Pops/Pappa - he turned it Blue - one more single to his collection. There is always a good deal out there if you look hard enough - but sometimes it may take a bit of work to realize the deal - Ryans bike needed the jets cleaned, new oil, gas, plug, and intake boot - runs like a charm(he had let it sit for almost a year). Put a $9.99 Ebay regulator on tonight, and now it puts out 14.6V at idle. One more dragon slain...  | ||

Rode it to work the other day -- 37 miles or so one way. On the way home, it was idling very high at stop lights. Cracked intake boot maybe? | ||

If it's a cracked boot, you might be running a bit rich on idle. | ||
