Honda usually makes nice stuff.... I'm sure that thing will be good at doing all the things it is supposed to be doing. I'm sure that thing will be top quality and reliable. I am sure that whatever that thing is intended to be, it will be one of the best things in its category. But what exactly is that thing? Bill |

It's an urban transport vehicle. Scooter and bike combined - it would probably dust up a bonneville around town, Uses far coil fuel and the fanboys will dig them like gilera racing scooters. And you wouldn't really care if it got stolen. |

I got as far as "it is aimed at the discriminating rider", what ever that means, I guess I'm not it! |

I was thinking a VFR humped a snow mobile. Then smoked like a chimney and drank like a sailor. That bike has Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and birth defects. |

Been a long time since I saw an interesting new bike from Honda. At least models that we can purchase over here. And that DN-01 looks like the result of a Goldwing taking a dump. Just sayin. Honda needs some bikes like Ducati did w/the classic series. |

Why would she pick that over something like a 250 Ninja or a Blast? Is it the automatic transmission? I know it's probably not the mission of Buell, but I wonder how well an automatic transmission Blast would sell. |

I don't care for the "sit up and beg" position that bike offers. I do the feet forward thing either. |

i just scanned the specs. this has all the potential to be a brilliant motorcyle. why buy it over a Blast or Ninja? read the specs. HTF trans? it's got a manual mode if the auto feature is too quiche for you. i concur with Rubberdown: i like the look. it's relatively heavy, and if it makes it to the States one wonders what the cost of admission will be. that said, the best overall motorcycle i've ever owned is a Honda, and if i had the scratch, i'd own one of these in a heartbeat. pearl white, please. Honda has to be the oddest company in the world. When it comes to "normal" motorcycles they build some of the dullest bikes on the planet and seemingly make it a point to not break new ground anywhere. Then they launch off-the-wall stuff like this. I just don't get it. As for the bike itself, I kinda dig it. It looks like cruiser/scooter ergonomics on a street-friendly sport bike. It doesn't appear to be angry enough for my tastes, but I'm sure it would be fun as a commuter. Is anyone else reminded of Honda's other attempt at a plastic-clad, scooter-esque concept with a lazy v-twin: the PC800? |

You know, this bike reminds me of a Dual-Sport. It can be a cruiser, a touring bike, a sport bike, a commuter or automatic diaper changer, but it doesn't do any of them particularly well. |

I think we will being seeing more and more auto-matic transmissions or electronic transmissions in motorcycles in the near future, The FJR-A Yamaha, this Honda, Aprilla, etc. Whether they are paddle shifters (FJR), or foot shifters, who knows. Honda has electronic shifters on some of their ATV's, the TRX420SE comes to mind. A great proving ground for this type of transmission. Its quick and positive. The traditionalist wouldn't like to see any advancement in this sort of technology. Unfortunately or fortunately it's on the way. In a couple of years or so, the FIM world champion will be on an electriconic shifter bike. It worked in Formula 1, and it will work in the motorcycle world as well. The technology is there. I would to see better layout for the paddles (buttons). Top button shifts up and bottom button shifts down.

Xl1200r: other than the diaper thing, how do you know? When you show me a car that can carry 8 people, tow a 37 foot boat, handle like a Lotus and go like a Vette, I'll engage in this argument. Until then, I'll stand by the theory that this is just a law of the universe. |

I'm sure it'll be a fine bike. I just don't like the look of it. The automatic transmission on this model is supposed to be a work of genius. |
