My knee would hit the Hyper, not so with Force. Dont know about any performance issues with either, had good luck with them both. Hyper kinda looked funky to me. Just my opinion though. Anybody else? |

as long as you have the Pro hypercharger you will be ok performance wise, i am 5'11" and sometimes hit my knee on the hypercharger. |

The Forcewinder looks spectacular. The Hypercharger, not so much. |

The Forcewinder works great and looks like a quality race part. The Hypercharger probably works okay but, IMO, it looks like it belongs on a Suzuki B-King or a catalogue "chopper". No contest. The Forcewinder is best. |

neither, I do not have personal experience with the Hypercharger but I know you will not gain a thing! When I was working at a dealer and doing major mods on my bike I tried the Force and lost ponies. If you do any mods above a Force and a Slipon you will loose! If you are only doing a Force and a slip on you will be fine. BUT anything more than that and the Force will hold you back! Get this. http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/5196.html there is also a Buell/Sportster online site that "shall not be named" that has simulare cleaners with offsets that look just like the old Buell Pro Series stuff. |

back in the archives somewhere there is a thread about putting a dimple on the face of the force to redirect the intake somehow. it's been awhile but according to some it made a bit of a difference. once i had put the force on it was suggested to put a yost powertube in. the biggest mistake i made was putting bub pipes on. although it sounded great i lost like 7 hp from just the force. |

The force winder was for the carb bowl vent i thought. And it does make a differece, not sure if they corrected it or not. Garrett, i would think you would probably need to rejet, i know mine runs leaner, with the hbbi intake. It has a bigger pipe, but i dont know if it flows more air. It runs fine for now, im waiting til i can get some dyno time to get it all correct. |

I like my force. Just do a search on here for jetting the CV40 carb. There is also alot of info on other sites. Google is your friend. Pretty easy, 45 slow, drill mixture screw and go up a jet or 2 in the main. You don't really need an expensive jet kit, just a few jets. |

I've got the forcewinder on my 2000 Thunderbolt -- wouldn't trade it for anything. There is some good performance data on the NRHS site -- and some info abut the dimple. Be aware the sock IS a restriction -- run the bike without it unless it's raining -- |

The hypercharger is a POS. Terrible flow charts and looks ridiculous. |

The tube in the stock airbox is very similar to the shape of the Forcewinder. There must be a reason for that. My Forcewinder works great and the extra knee clearance is a bonus. (The carbon fiber ham can on my other bike might flow as well or maybe even better but it is less comfortable.) It is the best set up I have seen yet! |

("The carbon fiber ham can on my other bike might flow as well or maybe even better but it is less comfortable.)" I was using a Forcewinder before I got a race kit. The CF hamcan that comes with the race kit interfered with my knee pretty badly; I could not use it. I went back to the Forcewinder, which I never really liked before, I just got it out of necessity. After trying the hamcan (absolutely untenable), I can definitely see the merits of the Forcewinder, now. I prefer it and it works well on my stock cammed M2. You just can't beat the knee clearance. |

Do I need the optional mounting kit? |

Well, I replaced my Race Kit intake for the same reason (knee) Djkaplan said. So the breathers were already re-routed to a catch can. I bought the tube and filter of a Forcewinder off'n eBay and had to buy my own 3 bolts at the hardware store. That and maybe a new carb gasket was the entire mounting kit I used. I liked it a lot, seemed to run with perfectly acceptable performance, compared to the Race Intake, and my knee never hits it. Replacing the Race Kit did not seem to need any jet changes at all. Lately I did replace it with a carbon-fiber clone, which has a very slightly bigger bore, but it was mostly for looks. Also seems to run good. |

Carbon fiber clone? I would like to know more about that. Who makes it? Where did you get it? |

i have both the hypercharger and the forcewinder but have a force racewinder fitted,i sliced up the original snorkel and used that with a ramair air filter inside,i then sealed the inside with silicone sealant, this gave it more volume than using it with the forcewinder in it,the hypercharger kept vibrating loose and have never fitted the forcewinder,as for performance some say one or the other is better, thing to do is dyno both on your bike to see if there is any gain,i have just gone for looks, |

There are at least 4 or 5 clones now of the Forcewinder. Some cost way more than the Force. Even Harley as added one to their Factory accessories. There's usually a Big Bore clone listed on eBay, for half the price of Force. This is the Airblow, from Trojan, a bit more than retail of the Force. The picture on the Trojan/RRC web-sites doesn't have the logo on it, and getting one with a logo irked me quite a bit, but oh well. The aluminum Force doesn't weigh that much, but this weighs almost nothing. But it's for looks.

I don't really care for CF because of the weave (if I had any, I'd probably paint it!) but that RRC elbow looks basass. The logo doesn't bug me, but I can see your point... you're an aesthete. I almost painted my pulley cover silver like you did. |

When designer jeans first got popular about 25-30 years ago, I started removing labels in sort of silent protest, I've taken visible labels off a whole lot of clothing and things, generally don't like to wear visible brand names of any kind. So it's not any stretch for me to try to avoid any such aftermarket names on my BUELL. Mainly bugged me because the pictures of the item for sale clearly didn't have it, but the item I received (all the way from England) did. I got it to sort of balance out the American Sport Bike carbon hugger. Just waiting for time to install the carbon handguards to complete that part of my aesthetic treatment. |

You want to hear something funny? I DO THAT TOO! I remove all the labels from my running shoes. When I ran in Nikes, I always removed the 'swoosh'. I always remove the N on my New Balances now. I've done it countless times on expensive clothing too, but that has more to do with the itchy tags than brand consumerism. My girlfriend thought I was crazy when I cut the Tommy Hilfiger tags off some stuff she bought me. I did the same thing with some Oxtar boots I got last year. The reasoning is that they don't pay me, so I'm not advertising for them. My car and truck are the same way. I ripped every decal and company logo from vehicles... the ones that can come off. No Chevrolet or GMC anywhere. I was never one of those sticker guys either. I don't even have Buell logos on my bike anymore. We're both weird that way. I thought I was alone... |

Jayvee, how much was that Airblow in american dollars? Thats just what I WAS, lol, looking for!! I ended up getting a forcewinder for a Twin cam motor instead of the ddfi for my X1 and saving about a hundred dollars in the end. |

I thought I was the only sticker/logo remover. I have been doing that since I was a kid. Reminds me of a great Cycle World cover article on a beautiful plain black Sportster built by Vance Breese (sp?)maybe 20 years ago. It made unheard of power, went really fast, and was a work of art with many innovations and one-off parts. When the interviewer asked about the plain black paint, Vance Breese replied that this was his personal bike, he paid for it himself, it was not a race bike with sponsors and associated obligations to display their logos. When someone else pays, he displays their sticker but when he pays for it himself, it is all black. Very cool and quite rational. Since then I have had a special appreciation for plain bikes without logos and stickers. Now, when I see a sticker I wonder, do they pay you to advertise with that? That said, Hats off to Harley Davidson for their incredible success at getting willing subjects to pay them to advertise for their products by buying logo stuff at inflated prices. Their marketing people must be proud. On the other hand, Buell is cool. I plan to wear my free neck gaiter with the Buell logo showing. That's only fair. They gave me the item for free and it is nice. A fair deal with respect for all parties involved. That just one more reason why Buell is different than the others. |

Cuelbuell, you can check the Trojan site for the current price, the dollar has dropped a lot lately, I'm sure it's gone up relative to when I got it last Sep. It was more than Force but less than several of the clones on JP Cycles catalog. |
