Hey folks, I start my new job next monday. I am flying out to Oregon tomorrow to finalize the deal on my new Lincoln. If everything goes well, I will have it shipped back and have it here within 2 weeks. I have wanted one of these cars for as long as I can remember. It's funny how I couldn't find one until I was unemployed.

Charlie, I've been keeping up that build for quite a while now, it's good to see him finally finished. Cam, I can see you cruising in that Lincoln...sideburns flowing in the breeze, Elvis on the radio... |

> How did you like turns 3 throught 12?? Tons o' fun. It's far more technical than Tally, and you actually have to transition your weight quickly in a couple of spots. It was nice to get some use out of my right knee puck and the right sides of my tires too. I love how they have the apex, turn-in, and braking markers setup with signs instead of cones. It's just a big game of connect the dots! It also makes it easier to get good photos without crap in the way. I had more trouble with the straight bits than the corners, really. The gixxer is just ridiculous. I'd never ridden that fast before. This was the first track I'd been on where I had to lean off at high speeds (e.g. 2 and 12). I need a lot more work on consistent shifting and braking points at the ends of the straights, and I need a lot more practice to keep my entry speed up coming out of them. By the end of the day, I was really enjoying 10-14 coming into the front straight, and I was getting brave enough to worry myself on 1-3. I ran off the edge a bit on 2 when I kept my eyes on the apex marker a little too long, but I pulled it back on without incident. Other than that, my only real pucker moments were a couple of front tire slides on 6 on the warmup laps. I'll definitely buy some tire warmers before I go out again. Here's something funny: we had 4 paddocks in a row with a rider named Matt. One Matt to my left and his friend both had minor lowsides. The Matt to my right started out in novice (his 3rd track day), got bumped up to intermediate and then to expert. They had one session with a mock start and a mock race for the experts, and he wadded up his gixxer coming out of turn 1 in it. I have no idea how he didn't get hurt, but his bike was totaled. He had the motor out and most of the parts sold by the end of Sunday, and Jessica bought his slot to ride. |

Travis, I have been busy doing my own crap but I should be able to get to your bike this weekend some. Send me an Email with the exact symptoms you are having please! And get you a fiddy! Removed by me as some may find the contents offensive. Thanks for listening. (Message edited by new12r on March 03, 2008) |

Damn Charlie, that sucks about not being able to leave! Where did you see me Saturday? I assume Temple Johnson area... That was a friend from home visiting for the weekend; she's going through bike withdrawals (can't safely ride in the snow in CT ya know) so I took her out for a bit. With the tiny rear seat and lack of pass pegs on the XB, I thought the SV was a better option :P |

Saw you at Beaver Ruin and 29. First in line to blast through the intersection! I ended up getting out, dipstick came back. I ordered a new intake valve and top end gasket kit, got a new plug(the old one is stripped), and a new air filter. If this gets her running the street tires will come next. And I just got an email from the guy with the other 50 saying he still wants to trade!! now I just gotta find some time. |

New12r... Same stuff as before. Difficultly idling, stumbling at constant RPMs and surging. It seems to be ok when the throttle is twisted. But around town in traffic and from stop to stop it is either surging or dieing. |

U4euh was having the same trouble after I installed the motor, when he swapped handlebars it was fixed. I think we should get some R throttle cables. I will give you more info when I know a little more. |

Good luck Cameron... Lack of sleep to come, but surely you'll have a few good stories and experiences out of it. Have fun. As for Barber, I have a class that night, and money is tight, but I am keeping my fingers crossed. I would love to go. Wish me some luck too. |
