Just curious...who else is still waiting on their 1125R to show up? I have had my deposit down for going on 5 months now. I have been pretty patient since it has been winter and all, but its March now and I'm in Oklahoma. Today is supposed to be 70 degrees. I'm getting the feeling I am the last person with a deposit hanging out there with no bike (at least in the USA). Tell me I am not alone! I want to |

Dtx, While not in the market for an 1125 right now, I can feel your pain. The Augusta Ga dealer has two 1125's on the floor and cant get them sold. Seems like dealers could move inventory between stores to cover these types of situations. |

Question is do you really want one with all the problems coming up? I would think that waiting to get a 2009 would be a better idea.... |

I would get your deposit back, Come to Denver I know of at least two bikes each at three different dealers. You may even get a discount. |

Judging quality of the 1125R from what you read here is akin to judging the health of the human race by sitting in a doctor's office. |

DTX Silver Eagle Harley-Davidson Buell in Waterloo, Ia just got their second 1125R in Thursday, give Troy a call, he'll treat you right! Since it came in, mine got delivered to my house yesterday, I left it there on display until the other one came in. Problems? The battery did go dead sitting on the showroom floor, we check it and it showed 80% charge but wouldn't even light up the dash. They replaced it with a new one, bingo! I don't know if Buell got a load of bum batteries or what but all appears to be well now. I also disabled the alarm system as I know H-D had similiar battery draining problems with the early V-Rods when the alarm system was left activated after the bike was turned off. I have a feeling the problems others may be having could be related to the alarm system. Yeah, I know if they come with an alarm system it shouldn't cause this problem but my XB12R didn't have an alarm system and I never sweat about it so I'm not going to worry about having it disabled on this one, either. Besides, the insurance is paid up! Now I'm just waiting for all this snow and ice to go away!!! |

For now, I am going to remain loyal to my local dealer. They have been pretty good to me and I have built up a level of trust with them. If I did not buy it from them, it would sort of be a slap in the face. I appreciate the information on the other dealers, though. If I were REALLY impatient I could drive a few hours in any direction and get one from another dealer, probably. As for the issues on the bike...I have carefully read many of the posts on here and don't believe they are big enough problems to not buy the bike right now. Besides, if there are any hiccups I know Buell and my dealer will take care of me. |

Phillip: You really need to think about what Asbjorn said about the Dr's office (BTW, a VERY good comment). I've got mine reserved. I will pick it up the 3rd weekend in March. I'm not thinking twice, I've been through the hard years with Buell and this is a piece of cake compared to 98', 99' and, 00'. I'll just glance into my mirrors and watch you fade awaaaaaay. Hey Drake, it's been a minute man. Gail's up here in KC has 3! I sat on one yesterday, and I like it way more in person than any pictures as most people have commented. They are trying to sell them for $12,995. I busted the sales guy's balls about that, and he gave me all the standard BS excuses about delivery and other crap. I told him that I would talk to him again when they are selling them for MSRP, or next year about the same bike if he thinks they're going to get that for them. I would like to have a new bike, and the 1125 would be on the list to look at. However, I think there is more of a chance that I'll sell the Bolt to make room in my budget for my student loans payments that I'll have to start paying since I finished school last week. I'll buy another bike once I've got the budget and time for it again. |

Olin, Good to hear from you. Congrats on finishing school. It's an MBA you got, right? When you get a new bike you really need to get the KC gang to meet me up in NW Arkansas. Amazing good roads! My local shop is selling them for MSRP, so I can't complain about that. They called yesterday and said mine should be here next week...but they have been saying that for 6 weeks now. Fingers are crossed. |

Well, I heard from my dealer. They said my bike is being delayed for shipment due to Frame Supplier issues. Anybody else heard this? I will likely not get the bike this week...again. |

Get a new dealer. When my bike was delayed, my dealer raised a bunch of noise with regional mgt, including an inventory pull to ask why places like Alaska and Boston had them in stock, even multiples in stock, and in Texas we had none. Insist on an inventory transfer, or take a $99 flight down to Dallas and get one out of stock from a dealer down here. |

DTX, I feel for you!! My Dealer just sent me an e-mail and my 25r has been shipped!!!!!!!!!! I'm not picking it up until the 16th so, I have a few days buffer. I'm delivering my 12r on the 15th so timing couldn't be better. Neil S. |

I could go to another dealer so easily. There's only one in my town, but other nearby cities have them. Thing is, I really want to buy it from my local dealer since I have been treated so well there. I am not upset at my dealer...more so the system. You would think that a deposit would mean ship ASAP, but I truely feel it is out of their control. My salesman is a good guy and calls me weekly with an update, and recently daily. He is doing everything he can. The system needs to be tweaked a little bit. I'm still patient, though. Somehow we (Oklahoma) got 6" of snow last night. |

I went to my dealer on Monday. They had a 1125R front and center as you walk into the store. It had a sold sticker on it. The sales girl come over and asked me if I was interested in one. I said, " mine is due March 17th" She said, " you must me Mike" I phoned in my deposit a few weeks b-4 and have not met the sales girl yet. She told me the sold sticker is just for looks, the guy on the list for that bike can't get it till April so if you want that one it could be yours. I said ok and should be able to pick it up on Friday. |

Sounds like there are a handful of people scheduled to get theirs in March. March is a good time to buy a motorcycle. |

Got mine last Thursday. Sales guy called a little after noon and told him I would be down in an hour or two. Mentioned not to uncrate it yet because I wanted to be there. Got there about 2:41 pm and took pictures of the uncrating. Bike went to the service bay for prep and the service manager was like "doubt we will get it done today". I was like please I am signing the papers today and would like to take it home. They hooked me up and I got to take it home same day. Very happy so far. |

Yeah I had seen Tim No_rice Hackbart's post where he was there for the uncrating (of course he works for the dealership) and said "that is cool I want to do that too". It was pretty cool. I left the tech alone during the PDI as I was pushing my luck getting the bike that day anyway and did not want to distract him. |

Sometimes those pics can come in handy. I had a windshield problem with one of my BMWs and upon closer inspection, it appeared that the windshield mounting brackets had been installed incorrectly. At first, the dealer refused to fix it - saying that I obviously must have taken the shield off at some point and reinstalled it wrong. Bullshit. I had done no such thing but he was sticking to his story. A few days later I ran across one of the pictures I'd taken during the PDI and it clearly showed the brackets mounted incorrectly. One I showed him the picture, he ended up replacing the entire windshield and assembly at no charge. |

In an interesting turn of events, my dealer has made arrangements to get my bike from another dealer. They worked out a trade. Also, he did confirm there is a delay in vendor supplies, specifically the frame. Supposedly they are not keeping up with the demand. I should have my bike this week! |

Yeah that is the memo my dealer showed me about the frame suppliers. Delayed mine about a month. |

I'll pick the bike up tomorrow! Been waiting so long, I don't know what to think. It's number 490. What month is that build date? I'm guessing Jan or Feb. The only (minor) let down is that I won't be able to watch the "birthing" (uncrating) process. The bike will be uncrated at the other dealership, then delivered to mine. Oh, well... What else do I need to know? |
