Baby needs new shoes -- looking for recommendations for good touring tires. I'm not real aggressive in the twisties -- comes with being blind in one eye -- but like to ride at speed -- long steady cruises of 80 or 85 and run it up to near redline at least 3 or 4 times per outing. I don't usually ride 2 up, but might have a full load in the bags. Also looking for something sure footed in the rain -- Any suggestions-- other than don't ride motorcycles with one eye? |

I like the Avon storms on my Cyclone. |

I've burned up a lot of Bridgestone 020s. |

I am very happy with the Metzler Roadtec Z6 tires I put on last year. Rode them to Laguna and back, very little wear. |

Getting ready to install a set of Michelin Pilot Road2 dual compound sport-touring tires. Will post results...looking forward to something lasting longer than the D208s |

So that would be either Avons, Bridgstones, Metzlers, or Michilins right? I had vibration problems on my FJR with the Avons ( once out of 3 sets ) and cupping on the B-Stones...I'd go with the Metzler Z6's...great tire, just hard to see the wear bars. L8r, Carl |

I started a thread nearly identical to this in the tires section a year ago: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/278724.html?1201355931 Good choices are: Bridgestone BT-021s Conti Road Attacks Pilot Roads Avon Storms or Azero (I forget which is touring. Both?) Pirelli Diablo Stradas There is no GREAT choice for mileage. The torquey heavy bikes just love to eat up tires. I burned up a BT-021 in 6k miles, now I'm running the Stradas. I LOVE the feel and handling, but I don't know how long they'll last. (Message edited by mikef5000 on February 28, 2008) |

I use Avon Azaros and have been very happy with their all around nature. Have not use the Storms. Good grip for aggressive riding but not very aggressive riding. Excellent wet weather traction. Good off road for a street tyre, gravel driveways, camp ground and such. Generally get between 5700 to just shy of 7000 out of the rear. I usually get two rears to one front but the front is getting hard by that point. Not a peaked tyre so tip in is linear and metal gratings are not a problem. Joe |

Metzeler ME880 -- they have radials to fit the S3/S3T. I'm on my 2nd set--get about 12K miles on them. Sounds like my riding matches yours, not pushing the envelope but do enjoy the backroads and twisties! Barry Hollister, CA |

I'm going with the ME880's on the next set too. I've not tried them yet, but I'm tired of flat spotting tires every 3-4K miles. |

What tires are on the Uly.? And will they fit a cyclone? They look pretty beefy. |
