Javhed, you can order those pegs from a Buell/HD dealer. I have always stocked these because they're so affordable. Some dealers may not have caught on so before you go in looking, phone them and order it. The part numbers are the same as I gave before. Raymaines is correct, they are cast. Right N0404.Q Left N0403.Q Those pegs are stock on the 01 Race Stripe X1 and Millennium X1. Captlusk, SPLASH dates are July 19,20,21. I'll leave the Lakeside Motel Phone# next time I get a chance. Firemanjim, there is a 125 tooth belt #40038-91 but you should be able to use your stock one. Because the North American belts are longer, your rear axle moves back about a 1/2". The axle plates I was talking about are used if you use the 125 tooth belt, so you should'nt need them. Because the axle adjusters move back 1/2", check to make sure your plates will work, if not you'll need to make a set like we did. I think Buell Bros' Racing took back the record for the stock production class, so if you need a hand in this class I'm here. Rodger Rossler is a great guy, but his team could use a lesson in manners. Trev did'nt take a liking to these guy's and we would both like to see you get it. We have tried it once so I don't think we'll go again, plus it's pretty hick down there. Good Luck, hope to see ya at SPLASH. |

Hey STC Members, We have a monthly BRAG meeting today, 3rd Tuesday of the month. Silver Dollar pizza (corner of Denny and Hall in Beaverton) at 7PM for pizza buffet and plan next months ride and talk dirty about SPLASH. If you're in the Portland area you need to make the meeting tonight. This months group ride took place last Sunday, Fathers Day. Four dedicated STC members showed up for 200+ miles of fun. Did a run through Estacada and down the twisty roads of 224 to Detroit. Where we enjoyed some Lake burgers and fries form the second story dining facilities at Wade's Marina. After lunch it was back towards Stayton then through Silverton, Woodburn and the I5 drone back to the Portland area. I missed the turn outside of Stayton that would have taken us to the Silver Falls playground, sorry Loni. I had a great time Sunday. Work and life has been too much of a drain. It was great to blow it all off and go have fun. Let's talk about an evening ride up to High rock next week at the meeting tonight. See everyone there! |

OK everybody, I want to throw out an idea and see what you think. Last weekend I rode with Garin around St Helens and found a couple of interesting new roads. I'm wondering if some or all of you would be up for adding a loop to our usual SPLASH route. After Cougar there is a hwy that goes toward Carson and Trout Lake. We rode the loop to the east through Trout Lake then Glenwood then the Klickitat river valley then to Lyle on the Columbia River Gorge, down the Gorge to the Wind River, up the Wind River valley back to hwy 25 and back to our usual route. The turn off is about 15 to 20 miles past Cougar and I beleive that the complete trip from Woodland to Packwood is somewhere around 275 to 300 miles (not including Windy Ridge). I think that would add another 25 to 30 miles. So...how about it? Give me some feedback and lets kick it around. I guarantee you'll like these roads. Well except for the gravel parts which are very short. There are 2 sections that combined probably only total .5 mi. of road. So...what do ya think. Mike? Bob & Deb? Ray? Ricky? Gootch? Chris & Loni? Don & Lo? Galen? STC group? Canadian hooligans? Anyone? Ponderin in the south sound, Matt |

Matt- I'm in for the longer ride so count me in. Bob- Here's Cody's new JR Motard, notice the sticky rubber? The next you may not notice from the picture, but this one almost got away. 20 mph 2nd gear power wheelie! Just like you I was wondering how in the world I was going to eject and run...... luckily gravity was on my side. Mike - , |

Gootch and Ray, Thanks again for the info! The $11 pegs are on order. Funny how the same pegs in the Harley catalog are either $50 or $84. Sure would have sucked to pay that much Have fun! Dan |

JAVA, ain't it the truth. Everytime I had looked befor, all I could find was the high $-tag! OK, that motorcycle hates me! Long story short- I have another broken bolt. Snapped at the surface. One of the first-level rocker-cover bolts. WAY BEFOR IT REACHED IT'S TORQ VALUE!!!! I bought a danm torq wrench, dammi't. Snugged this one, snugged another one, got to that one and it was getting tighter and then it was easyer?????? What the fuck says I. I'm being soooooo anal about this job, cause it's MY BIKE that I'm gona ride as fast as I can, right??? So I take the bolt out. And look at it. With a magnifying glass. No cracks...seems a little thinner towards the head of the bolt...but it's a HARDENED BOLT, right...new bolt...trip to shop, AGAIN... So erring on what I know now to be stupidity I put the original bolt back in and it broke off right where I thought it looked thinner. Woe is fucking me! And I don't know a girl named Woe! I swear I cryed like a girl for about 30 seconds while I looked around for some gas to pour on the blighted piece of shit. Then I slumped into a little pile on the floor where the wrench had fallen from my hand and picked it and me back up and started taking Betty back apart again...and so it goes. GALEN |

Gah Galen!!! If it were'nt for bad luck......hey, at least you have a bike to work on Ya'll -- just got a excellent safety device in today!!! I've been looking for some soet of flasher system for my brake light for quite a while now. Everything I've looked at has been between 50 and hundreds of dollars, at least until last week. I ran across these while scanning E-Bay STROBE KITS From KWIMPORTS' online shop these lights are the heat!!! ALSO -- only $18.50 plus S&H. They mounted next to my brake light in about 10 min's, are super bright and really get the attention of latte drinking, cell phone babbling cagers! Just wanted to pass the info along - I give 'em two thumbs way way up Have fun - and Galen, Godspeed Dan |

I took delivery of my new 2002 Aprilia Futura. The Electra-Glide went bye bye.Yeah I know the harley guys I used to ride with won't understand but who cares.Crossing over has been oh so pleasant.I suppose its like walking towards that calming white light that we all hear about.Sort of scary at first but comforting and re-assuring.Only 65 breakin miles tonightI can tell this thing is gonna be a hoot.I think it'll get along fine with my hot rod S3T.Just thought I'd share my news. Galen, Jeepers hang in there my friend don't give up.Remember"Things are never so bad that they cannot be worse"I'll send some good Ju Ju your way. Take Care Everybody Ride Safe and Often. Steve |

Dirtbeard, never even once! What did you fuck up? So I get the head back like I said (sic) and I start SLOWLY lining things up, when I notice something I hadn't befor; right about where the spark-plug would reside above the piston, there is a chunk of metal missing. Missing from the top of the piston. About 3/8" long by 1/8" wide. I stared in dumbfounded disbelife. No fucking way did I do that, I sez to myself. It's at least a 8th " deep also...how could this have happened...then I remember the arrow. The one that points to the front of the bike... I was so relived I just turned out the light and said good night. GALEN |
