As long as you're not using them on a track. Most track days and every race organization prohibits sparking knee pads... they're around though. There are some with Ti inserts in the plastic. (Message edited by slaughter on February 27, 2008) |

My Cycle gear, has to order them for me. I prefer Motrax teardrop sparkies. I use the ones with the full Ti shroud and studs for max spark.

I had the Sparkies, but at Saintly's suggestion I just glued two pieces of titanium scrap to my knee pucks. Serious spark! |

Is there a way to put knee pucks on pants without them? I have some pants that are padded, but have no provisions for knee pucks.. |

I'm a cheapskate! So I aint paying $100 for pucks that I'm going to scrape away. I go to Ebay, & buy scraps of Ti for 5 - 10 bucks Grind a cheap or free(thanks buell) set of plastic pucks till they're flat. Drill & tap a few holes in the Ti Attach to plastic puck with screws from the backside. Viola!!
Let the sparks fly!!! |

No U.S. distributors for them as of yet, Motrax stopped selling the full set as shown above and only provide the ones with small rods inserted. |

Is there a way to put knee pucks on pants without them? Yes! Teknic makes a "knee puck kit". It basically just has 2 ovals of heavy duty Velcro. |

Ti screws might work if you put them in a plastic knee puck. |

Perhaps some of our snow-mobile buddies to the north can send you some old scag remnants off their steering ski's. They were made of either carbide or titanium as I remember. Titanium costs more and lasts longer. Either way, big sparkles! |

Will (Black_sunshine) gave us a piece of Ti, that was a joint or something like that. He makes prosthetic limbs for a living. Charlie (New12r) screwed it to one of his sliders. http://s53.photobucket.com/albums/g49/glitchster/? action=view¤t=Highway60.flv |
