I have to say this bike can very well get me into some serious trouble when I am through getting it broken in. My first 100 miles I behaved myself very well. Today I put another 120 miles and found the front tire on this bike can get REALLY light under acceleration even keeping the rpms below the 6000 mark....I won't say how fast I was going, but suffice it to say, 5000-5500 rpm does in no way mean you are going 65 in 6th gear . It's a good thing I have a track day coming up next month because by then I am REALLY going to be itching to let loose. 220 miles and so far no problems with my baby. |

Hwyranger, I may be riding down this summer to the Chico area. I must ask, are there any 'safe' areas along the I5 route for 1125R's I may need to know about??? (snick snick) When you get your baby broke in, you'll better appreciate my querry! Very difficult to keep it at hwy speeds! JJ |

Can't speak much for the NorCal area around Chico. I work down in LA county (not for much longer...inland now). I-5 is too straight and boring for the 1125. hit the roads around Lake Tahoe, they're much better. |

Hwyranger I have heard that when you start doing track days you will not want to ride on the streets, I to am going to get my license and do track days but I have to ride on the street because I do not like more than two wheels. I want to ask you this, if I find a large office building that has a nice road around it and I were to raced around the parking lot when no one is there can I get into trouble, this is were I taught my son to ride and he would follow me around or I would watch him to tell him what he was doing wrong, but now he can ride on his own and I thought it would be cool to ride around this building fast but I can not afford any tickets or problems. I have been to the track once. I still like riding the streets, just have to keep my balls in my pocket and behave myself. As far as racing on private property, must check with the owner of the property, traffic laws still apply to most parking lots and if you are "racing" or doing things you wouldn't want the LEOs to see you doing on the streets while in the parking lot, you could still get their unwanted attention. Open it up on the track and enjoy simply being on two wheels when off the track. |

Thanks Hywyranger I thought the same thing and now I know, this bike is trouble and I got to behave myself on the street. I been going on google earth to find some were I can ride that is like a track but looks like I have to wait to go on the real thing, the race track is only 60 miles away and was looking at it on google earth, I also have a you tube of a bike on it from the riders point of view and I can not wait to go, I just need to get the right suite for going on the track, and go to race school, and hope I can ride like I use to when I was young, I am looking for something I can wear on the street, track, and touring. Hwy 299 West of Redding is a great road, as is Hwy 36 and if you're heading east, try out 32 between Chico and lake Almanore. What's bringing you to Chico Sheridan? |

Bdutro, just visiting family. At least that's my excuse to take a long ride. My 1125R will be bringing me! and I've been on 32 (cousins live just off of 32) and really want to ride it on my new bike (another reason). The XB9 loved it! One of my Uncles recently moved to a ranch somewhere in northern Nevada, I want to head thataway too, through Susanville. Also want to check out the road (299?) along the Klamath river. Never been on that one. Also the pass over to the coast, I hear that one's a regular snake trail. Hwyranger, I was just funnin ya about the 'safe' areas! I have a REALLY good insurance rate and won't do anything (at least I'm trying) to mess that up. I'm trying to map out a back roads only trip to get there so I don't have to slab it, did that once and you're right, BORING!!! JJ |
