Got my leathers from Top Gear Leathers Online. 2 piece racing suit, from some german company. I had posted the specs a couple of weeks ago. I gotta say, for $320, I don't think you could beat it. They seem to be similar quality to suits that cost $600 or more. I am very happy so far. I took a short ride today.. the I did overestimate the insulating qualities.. I got a bit chilly! I guess I'll have to buy myself some good thermals to wear underneath on chilly days. So, I'll finally be sportin' some leather pantaloones! I was bummed though... they ran out of pink, had to settle for black. |

Thanks for posting my crash first! Pics four and five were how low you could ride!! The KX on the knobbies was a little spooky at speed, I kept lowsiding from the rear coming out at low speed so I did not press my luck. Shred, you forgot the pics of Shelly.... |

Just put 200 miles on the bike 2day, and stopped into Cycle Gear, Twice! First time was to look around, the second time was after Pete did his impression of an Airborne Ranger on a muddy road. Only broke off his bar end!!! I tell you what guys-this bike is almost too fast! I cannot, I repeat, cannot keep the front wheel on the ground in first and second if I am at anything past 1/4-1/2 throttle. After leaving CG, we headed out past some guys on a Gixxer and one on a ZX9. The guy in the lead let me pass him up, I knew he did so I stayed in 3rd gear running 50-55. I heard him goose it up, so I followed suit. Last time I seen him he went through an intersection about 4 seconds after I slowed and turned. It cut top end down to about 120-123, but damn it is on rockets getting there. I am gonna need new clutch plates for sure. I wanted to do it on the install, but could not finance it. Charlie-need to call you this week, when is good. I might be getting rid of some stuff, havn't put in concrete yet, but I thought I would give you first dibs if I do. Speaking of, I got some white TT plastics in the classifieds if anyonee is interested. |

hey everybody, went for a ride yesterday with new member Bcool83 and the guys from BSB. Great times were had, did the loop and 60 up to Morganton, and a really great group of folks. Caught me a little air off the side of a curve on 60 up around the county line, just my own stupidity.....not really running fast, just had a little target fixation going on......."hey is that a new telephone pole?, I bet somebody went off here fast!............Oh %&*$ too fast for the corner!" applied brakes and slid off the dang road... the initial fall broke the shifter linkage and plucked the bolt that holds the shifter out of the primary, broke the left mirror the same place it was J.B. Welded before, tweaked the left handlebar again, and broke the scoop for the oil cooler; the second fall trying to get up the hill broke the front brake lever and bent the steering damper... I came out alright, only a little muscle strain in my arms trying to pick the bike up uphill... So if anybodies got some parts laying around, I could sure put em to good use...... Overall a great day of riding, and I can"t say enough about the BSB guys, these guys were a class act......all the way to one of their members Chris, who just happened to be bored around the house, and had decided to bring his truck up to Dales just in case somebody needed a ride home......... |

Steve it was good to see you. Glad you were not hurt and not much damage to the bike. The county line bites a lot of riders. Crash drive by. Not much to see. http://media.putfile.com/The-crash-2-24-08 |

PMing New12r? Anything I should be aware of? Cool pics Shred, looks like a hoot! I'm gonna have to give that a go. Man Steve, that sucks, good to hear you're alright. Sucks about the bike. I got no parts to help with the reconstruction. Hopefully someone else does. |

i'll post a pic of the primary cover a little later. the hole the shifter bolts into at the bottom is mushroomed out pretty bad, and cracked in 4 different places around the hole. I am going to look at it with some rested eyes today, and I might be able to just beat the hole back kinda the way its supposed to be and j.b. weld the thing shut and then use the secondary mounting hole above it for my shifter....not sure yet... How much for the primary cover Charlie? I'm probably due for a new clutch cable too anyway, so I may as well do it all at once. I'm gonna get with our friend at SMHD for new brake and clutch levers and mirrors if the price on buell.com is halfway accurate...the oil cooler scoop and the shifter linkage are the only other two things I haven't figured out yet....I'm thinking the linkage can be made for few bucks at Northern? seems like i've seen those bearing eye nuts somewhere...I may have some at work.....
