I just got the tracking number for my order of 10 ECMSpy cables. I'll be putting them together with the Deutsch connectors and shipping them out for $40 (my cost). PM me if you want one. Let me know if you want me to include the drivers on a CD. It's probably better to download them so that you make sure you get the absolute latest ones, but I can burn the latest ones I have to CD if you need them. -Ron |

Sure thing Treadmarks, just let me know where to send it. Johnboy, it plugs in to the USB port of your laptop, so there is no need for the USB/Serial adapter that the other systems use. So, just install the software drivers and plug in the cable. |

Ooh that would be awesome, WiFi ECMSpy. Next time I'm riding with Ft_bstrd, I can just cut the engine and blame it on his BAS. |

I had planned on getting one from you, I was driving through town last weekend but you already had other plans. I definitely need one, I just got an '06 Uly that is in desperate need of some tuning attention. What do you suspect your timeframe would be like to get another batch? Bryce |

Hi Bryce, I actually have a cable that I am holding for you. Sorry we didn't get to meet up last weekend. I actually got stranded east of Spokane when the power steering pump on my truck seized (I had the dogs with me, so I wasn't on the Uly). -Ron |

From what I have heard, there is an "EMCSpy2" in the works, which is for the 08's. Seemingly there is a lot more info in the 08 ECM. I think that the current ECMSpy will "work" with an 08, as in show some info, but not tried yet. I have the cable, just have not had chance to try out (08 Uly). That's all according to gossip anyway - would be great to hear something concrete! |

Sleez, I think the cable will work on the 08s, but I am not sure yet. Right now the problem is that ECMSpy doesn't work on the 08s. The software developer has posted that he is working on an update, but I haven't heard a timeframe for its release. -Ron |

Question: My cable that came with the DirectLink software... will that cable also work with the ECMSpy software??? It is a 9 pin seiral port (RS232) to the engine connector (I dont know what that is called).... Thanks Wade |

Hi Wade, No the VDSTS DirectLink cables do not work with ECMSpy. I don't really understand the details on why it won't work, but someone here on the board gave a brief explanation once. -Ron |

The proprietary portion of the VDSTS cable that their software recognizes is what keeps it from working with ECMSpy. That is also the part the keeps the VDSTS cable from working correctly itself and constantly needing upgrades. |
