Sooo.. i was sitting in a bar on Friday telling a buddy about Homecoming and how i cant wait to go and all the activities going on that week.. Now he wants to go about as bad as me.... only one problem, he rides a Hayabusa. I have read about some of you may be renting a Buell from Hal's(i think). Are there any left to rent? Hom much a day? Im also trying to get him just to go buy one, ride it for Homecoming and then selling it(hopeing he will like it enough to sell his Busa!!!) any ideas? |

There are several solutions. First, riding a Hayabusa would not prevent anybody from going to Buell Homecoming. Buell has long understood that some enthusiast require a greater degree of immersion into the Buell community before the "Horsepower Halo" is exposed for what it is. Please let him know he is welcome. Best bet on rental's would be to give Bud a call at Hal's. Rentals is his life. If he's rented out, let us know, there are other options. |

DO Call Bud!!! I nailed my rental a couple months ago... don't waste your time waiting for a response here on Badweb!!! Also, Hals has a whole line of non-Buell rentals (I believe they're called Harley or something like that) - you can check Eaglerider rentals through the Harley Davidson website to see who may be renting close to the area. Hals has their rates posted on the website under the rental section but like Court suggested - better call because a bunch of us GREEDY riders got ahead of you in line. |

Of course, someone on a Hayabusa would be welcome at Homecoming. Last year, there were people there on a variety of bikes from different manufacturers, and they all were welcome. My wife rode her Moto Guzzi to Homecoming, and nobody gave her any kind of hard time about her bike. In fact, she got quite a few compliments about it. The friendliness and acceptance of the people at the Rally (plus the Demo rides)helped convince her that her next bike should be a Buell. She now has an XB12Ss. |

Thanks that helps.. i did go to Hal's site yesterday, and i plan on calling him on Monday... I wasn't sure about him riding his Busa. I knew he wouldn't be turned away, i just dont know how comfertable he would be... Either way, he is coming... |

The average age of a Buell owner is what? 40? I don't think anybody coming to homecoming on any bike is going to be given a hard time. This isn't the 105th HD rally. A 40 year old owner acts 5 at those. |

Awww...I can't act like a 5 year old at Homecoming? Darn...I was looking forward to it (it *is* a week of vacation, after all!). Seriously though. Tell your buddy that I (and I'm sure 99% of all Buell owners) appreciate a good motorcycle, regardless of who's name is on the tank. The 'busa is quite good at what it does...it's just that its focus is quite a bit different than that of a Buell (and Buell owner). It's all good. |

A suggestion I'd like to make to the powers that be at Buell is to set up an area near the Courtesy Tent for the Buell racers to pit. Not on the grass if at all possible. I know it was tried last year, but it was too late to get it done. This year with Moto-ST not in the mix, there should be a little more room.Last year we were set up on the opposite side of the paddock and didn't get to see much of the Buell area. That kind of sucked. And I'm sure some people didn't get a chance to stop and say hello. This year, again, I extend the invite to anyone that wants to stop by and say hello, hang out or even help out in the pit area. Just look for the white XB9 #38. |

Whoa.. I hadn't seen any of that yet.. Where did you find it? Did they post that at Buell.com or did you get another source? Also, if it's at Buell.com.. is there some of this 'pre-registration' they were talking about available yet? |

Sounds like a great deal to get races, summerfest and some food for $55! The $50 for a buffet dinner and a seminar that used to be free in the past sure seems overpriced however IMO. (Message edited by buelliedan on February 29, 2008) |

I don't know what the $50.00 dinner is all about, but judging by past experience with Buell functions, it'll be a bargain for what we get. I did the Track Day at Blackhawk Farms in '99, and it's definitely worth the travel time; and, at a hundred bucks it's a steal of a deal. |
