Being the parts guy at the local hon/yam shop for 6 months now, today was my best call. Guy was looking to replace his broken powerband on a 08 LE R1. Know how hard it was for me to bite my tongue and not tell him to replace it with the super torquey Buell powerband we have in stock? |

I doubt it was his powerband in the first place! Probably the Knifler pin or even low blinker fluid. |

He shoulda switched to the synthetic blinker fluid. You guys gotta catch up!
quote:Wish you had a little more low end torque? Maybe you want a high revving formula1-esque screamer? KaleCoAuto's Adjustable Powerbands are the perfect solution! The power bands are made from titanium-injected rubber, with high grade 440 fasteners. Six links are included. One band is for horsepower, and the other for torque. You may use more than three links per side, but extreme caution should be taken!

Do those power band come in different colors? I'm thinking a red power band would provide the most horse power |

blinker fluid comes in synthetic now??????? man I wish I had known that a couple of days ago, cause I just changed mine. I"ll bet that synthetic stuff will make my firebolts headlights worthy of night travel even, I gotta find me some of that! |

DO NOT use blinker fluid in your headlights. Unless you want them to modulate that is. |

had a guy once ask why the air pressure in his shocks on his FLHTCU kept changing? My parts guy asked him how he knew it was changing His answer, the air gauge on the dash starts out low in the morning and always gets higher as the day goes on? (for those that don't know, the air gauge on the dash is an air temp gauge) Ray and I laughed a long time on that one! |

I have heard several people talk about their power band as if it were a thing. I just keep my mouth shut...no need to open that can. |

Don't forget about the air in the tires. You need to change it regularly. Over time it wares out and slowly looses its pressure. Weekly will do.

Seems crazy, but I've heard people say their bike came with a powerband installed from the factory... not dealer installed. My next question is always, "How much did the dealer charge?" Whatever it was, it wasn't enough. |

I don't always flush the tires with new air. Sometimes when I'm feeling lazy I'll just do a quick bleed job and add fresh air as needed. I try to stick with the same brand. I've been using "Perri-Air" for the last three years and it seems to be working well. The tires respond well to it and it probably added at least a thousand miles of life to the tires. |

All this "air shit" confuses the hell outta me. I totally forgot about "bleeding the tires". Im sure it will cause premature failure to my ballcock. Damn! Looks like another trip to BALLCOCKS "R" US is in my near future. |

Talked to my buddy who works at the "other" import shop in town (kawi/zuki/polaris) he said someone called their shop looking for one as well. Judging by how nice of a day it was someone was really looking for a "powerband" either that or really lame to waste time on a beautiful saturday pranking bike shops instead of riding! |

It was probably a coworker messing with you. Being in autoparts, my guys will routinely call sister stores/other chains and ask for radiators for aircooled vw's. Carbs for 83 vettes and the like |
