I used to run a 2-layer SS wool/fiberglass repack kit on the Big Gun Exhaust on my KLR. It keeps the noise down about 95% as good as fiberglass, but it doesn't need to be replaced every month. Yes - used in many cars and custom muffler manufacturers...I found one site (twin brothers...or two brothers...I think) that is a custom exhaust place and that is all they use. Then do a little welding and on to my bike... I finished installing my alternator last night, I had no idea my lights would be that bright w/ a correct charge....I am back to beating the thing silly! Still needs more power though!   Ustorque Posted on Thursday, February 21, 2008 - 07:08 pm:        eric are you welding the muffler solid or are you doing a removable end cap for packing? i scrapped the dual outlet idea just didn't look good to me, picked up a big stainless fatty 3" oval for the tip looks better. next time any of you guys need any metal products please feel free to ask me first before you buy it....i hate to see anyone shell out the money for the stuff if my shop has it on hand and i can get my hands on it.   Firebolteric_ma Posted on Thursday, February 21, 2008 - 09:35 pm:        I'm Thinking removable. I have looked at those boots on and off for quite awhile and decided because of your post to take another look. While on newenough checking them out, I found these also on closeout. They aren't really being discontinued, Oxtar is changing their name. They had them in my size (42)for only $79.00 (other sizes are as much as $119.00)! Hey Scotty - no more laces hanging down untied to distract you I was hoping to find one boot to meet all my needs, but have given up and realize that like my 3 jackets, 3 pairs of gloves and 2, soon to be 3, pairs of pants, I'll probably need 2-3 pairs of boots....   Ustorque Posted on Sunday, February 24, 2008 - 10:28 am:        hey scott i will say this the setup boots require zero break in very comfortable right out of the box. they could easily be worn off the bike walking around w/ no discomfort.
