A riding buddy of mine, SV1000S Jim Mac, installed Convertibars on his bike. He was very happy with them. I rode his bike and liked the ergos very much. I think he had them set at about a 4 inch rise over stock. Another friend, GSXR1000 Jerry, is a machinist and made his own version of Convertibars, plus he made brackets to lower the Gixer foot pegs an inch. I really liked the ergos on this bike too. His bars were raised about three inches over stock. I have a 2006 ZX-10R with an LSL (www.spieglerusa.com) handlebar conversion and Vortex adjustable rearsets (reversed the brackets side to side to lower the pegs) and it is very comfortable. It has sport/touring ergos like the Bandit, ZRX, FZ-1, but only 386 pounds claimed dry weight and about 155 rwhp. There is a lot to be said for performance AND comfort. Dave | ||

I was told they have convertibars for the 1125R but I am not sure they will work with the stock top clamp, I wrote them and the reply said nothing about putting them on but did say that to go back to stock I would have to put the stock top clamp on, so it is confusing. | ||

when installing convertibars you need to remove the top clamp because it will hit the handlebar mounts and that means you need a top clamp to us them, if I need to replace the top clamp I would buy Al's top clamp he is working on. I want to keep the stock top clamp and have two plans in the works on doing this. Mike |
