ok i just saw the rear caliper mount for an xb on dark horse moto that mounts the caliper behind the swingarm! completely bad a$$! anybody think it can be done to an X1? i have access to a machine shop. i think i will go home today and see if the caliper will fit behind the swingarm and still have room to function! anybody else looked into this for a tuber? |

you will probably have to use one of the small brembo calipers from a ducati, they are really light weight as well. may work, i have been considering it, but i haven't changed over to the aluminum swingarm yet. |

There's a place in England I think that sells an almost exact same mount, for TUBERS. But they use a "mini" rear brake. But boy is it cool. http://www.billet.co.uk/buell.htm#list There is also the Free Spirits Brembo mount, very similar, but not as hidden. Sold on the Trojan site. This is a very cool design too. Ooooh, that is cool. If it doesn't make the brake feel even more wooden (or too powerful on the other hand), I'd consider it. I'm so used to the current feel of the rear brake, I'm not so sure I'd be happy if it changed. |

Hope that mini brake is a lot more efficient than the stock set-up -- that's JUST what an X1 needs a smaller back brake -- |

http://www.x-race.net/images/alle-seiten/4_kolben_bremssattel_inkl.htm Available for all tubers. Looks better to me than the English setup. Although it´s only a two pistons caliper,it's no f.... billet, prone to wear out soon. Who really needs a blocking rear wheel? Ralph (Message edited by Xldevil on February 24, 2008) |

That's really cool as hell. I wonder if it is more/less of a pain to get the rear wheel in with that setup. |

Wow, that is even cooler, I always thought a Grimeca two-piston would be the best, but couldn't figure out if the stock master cylinder would work with it. Now there it is, or a clone, with a way cool bracket. For about $413, not bad at all. Just a pain to tranlate his site, is all. Oops, Brake not included! I think they're less than $150 anyway. Oops, Brake not included! "Ohne Bremsleitung" means "without break line". What you would get is the bracket and the caliper. If you need any further translations, let me know, please. Ralph (Message edited by Xldevil on February 24, 2008) |
