The wife and I went to the dealer to pick up our neck gaiters today and look over some bikes. Walked in and one of the HD salesmen came over and I told him I wanted to look at the 1125R and maybe a bike for the wife. He says "They tell me this is the fastest bike on the road right now" The Buell salesman must have seen the look on my face because he made a beeline for me and actually knew something about the bikes(knew the CG models by the color of the rear spring) Talked to him for a bit about a blast for the wife and turned out to be a pretty good experience. Found out that if you buy a used blast and trade up within a year they'll give you exactly what you payed for it. |

What? The 1125 isn't the fastest bike? There is a thread going on talking about how it can out run Busas in the quarter mile. Sounds like a great deal with the Blast. That’s good marketing, as a lot of people hang on to their beginner bike for about a year before moving up to something larger. |

I'd say he meant the fastest bike they have on the floor. |

No, I'm sure I read somewhere.. On the internet so you know it's true.. The 1125R (and I should know, I own one) is faster then a Veyron at full tilt boogie! Able to out stop a cement post! Out turn a gyroscope and with the special race tuner (coming soon) will be able to catapult you into reltivistic speeds (.987c)without causing a time dilation! Phew.. Sorry.. Just had to chime in. |

IMHO a used Blast holds its value than just about any other used bike. You can buy one in the Recycler for like $2500 and sell it a year or two later for exactly what you paid for it. |

Blublak - it just *feels* faster than the Veyron because you finally let yourself go over 7k rpm |

No he definitely meant "out there" as in "on the street." I got the feeling that the buell guy knew this other guy would be ruining a possible sale if he let him continue talking to me. Nothing I haven't noticed at other dealerships when they thought they were talking to someone who didn't know any better. Definitely more buell friendly than the last 2 times I was at their shop. Hell they even had the buells lined up just inside the doors in the window. |

Buell was running a very similar promotion when I bought my Blast back in 2001. Buy a Blast, get guaranteed 100% trade-in value if you step up to a v-twin within a year. I decided to buy a XB9R, which were announced a few months after I got my Blast. They were delayed a little bit and became a 2003 model - turns out the promotion was only good on 2002 models (and obviously there was no 2002 XB9R). At the time, I was kinda ticked off - I mean, that would have taken over four grand off the cost of my Firebolt. Now I'm insanely glad I decided to keep the Blast rather than trade it in at a reduced rate. Hindsight, as they say, is 20/20...and these days the XB12XT has got me thinking about having a third Buell in the garage. ...at least the Buell salesman had some product knowledge. It's been well over a year since I set foot in a H-D dealership and if I do decide to purchase a Ulysses I'm going to be very, very picky about where I head to do so. |

Yeah, if I bought a blast I would get it in writing but he also limited it to used blasts. I've heard of this offer before and seem to remember it being only certain dealers. |

Well at least they were trying to sell you a Buell. He wasn't trying to lure you over to the V-rods or ignoring you completely. Anyway, he might have meant it's the fastest "real" bike on the road. Cause you know those import aren't "real" bikes. D- for knowledge B+ for enthusiasm |
