Just bought a V&H SS2R on EBAY, new in the box for $150. Ad says it fits 97 S3 & S3T Only. My question is not if it will fit my bike, hopefully it will. I was just wondering what the differences are between the 97 models? Were the S1 mufflers different that year? |

as far as i know, it should work on the S1 as well. 98 S3s have thunderstorm heads and larger exhaust (2.5") like the S1W. 97s both use lightning heads and therefore 2" exhaust. Or...you can run a 98S1W/98S3 header on a lightning motor and run the 2.5" exhaust muffler. (Message edited by sleez on February 20, 2008) |

An average of 12 horsepower and 16 ft./lbs. of torque increase, it's the least expensive horsepower you can buy! I must have gotten the low performance SS2R with the smaller muffler bearings and off-the-shelf powerband. Rats. |
