The EX500 is a very nice bike. I don't know if they changed any from the 1987 model but I remember mine being very comfortable with good ergos. Power is very manageable but once you get the tach past 7K she had plenty of pep on tap. I sold mine a decade ago and the owner still has it and rides it to this day. He says it's the best darn speed bump jumper he ever had |

I stuck my wife on a Honda TRX250 to learn the controls. Then had her in the 5 day Motor Safety class through Team Oregon. She now has a Sportster 883 low. Low on power not too fast. Easy to plant both feet on the ground. Perfect for her. The other option was the Kaw 250R |

You guys and your 250cc's. . .get a real woman! Here is a shot of my girl and her first bike. . . http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff213/TerribleT im68/100_1680.jpg . . .that would be a Dyna Low-Rider. Not a Sporty. And yes, it has plenty of power "for a girl". I love watching her scoot out across Montana at about 110 laughing at "the guys" trying to find the nerves to keep up. She rules! |

It's funny that I hear Sportsters referred to as a "girls bike" all the time. Mainly among the HD crowd. I only know one woman that rides one. I've seen only 3 or 4 women riding them. I've seen hundreds of women riding Dynas though. And now more than ever I often see women on GSXR 1000s and CBR 1000s. There is no longer such a thing as a "girls bike" unless it's pink, fuzzy or both |
