I just use the cheapo bicycle mirrors. Bar ends give you the best view to the rear, as they are as far as possible from the centerline, and are not aimed at one's elbows. Being the official board cheapskate, I can't see the point of blowing twelve bucks on a pair when you can get them at any yard sale for $.50 . Thing is, they never seem to break. I must have about three of them, somewhere in my parts box:-) I made the mount out of a piece of stainless scrap, bent into a "L" with two holes in it. Cheap is good, I always say.
