I love scooters.

Infact I am contemplating purchasing an electric scooter.

Something I could ride into my building and safely keep inside.

I couldn't imagine what my wife would say about me on a scooter, she thought it was a crime when I rode my 250 Yamaha Virago.

Yes I do know what she would say about riding the other thing!!!

Grumpy,

When I lived in Sampigny, in the late 50's, I absolutely lusted over those friction drive Mobylettes with the engine above the front wheel, similar to this:

Those were the prime movers for a lot of rural folks. I was too young for a driver's license (and none was needed for the Mobylette) but my parents would not let me have one.

Do you still see those around in France?

That's a Solex or Velosolex, they're manufacturing them now in electric form.
Just stick Solex into google & you'l get loads of stuff (mostly in French obviously)

Any of you need perfo scooter bits, I can send em on for you.
