...so please be gentle. When connecting a tender to a battery still installed on the bike, is it first required to disconnect the battery from the bike or can I simply piggyback the tender's clamps on top of the existing clamps on the battery? I've used tenders on the past but only on BMWs and they would connect through the accessory socket - no need to touch the battery. |

Piggybacking is just fine, just make sure you have a good solid connection with no corrosion. I use a dab of di-electric grease also to just for peace of mind. |

get the pigtail and the tender wire end that has the plug that fits the plug on the pigtail. install the pigtail on the battery terminals. then you just plug the bike into the tender. safe, secure, and idiot resistant (no such thing as idiot proof) |

I used to have a switch mounted on the side of my bike for my grips.
After removing it I had a nice 1/2" hole. What to do, what to do? I enlarged it to 18mm and installed a BMW socket.
It's wired direct to the battery and grounded to the bike and is now a dedicated battery tender terminal
