haha haha!!! I may be a yard gnome, but I'm not that grey yet! It's top secret stuff Jim, Eric is going to do some R&D work for a Saintly Cycles prototype. More to come. By the way, I've not heard anything about the you-know-what issue. Do you think it was all BS? |

Yea I haven't heard either but I did hear it from a reliable source. I don't think it gets more reliable than the DOT in DC. |

JP, Here is where your muffler stands as of right now......Main can read for reassembly & some welding....
The inside of the can....Needs a quick clean up.**** the "main tube is about 1/2" longer than the two that are going to get blocked. Main is on the right side...
Here is the divider plate that was on the exhaust exiting side of the can....
I am thinking that I will block both these holes with a plate and then slide in the can and over the "Main tube" and weld it in. This will block the other 2 holes and allow some material to weld to and keep the divider plate in place.
Here is the end piece, Nothing done to it as of yet. I am considering just welding it back on as is. This really is up to you, do you have a Tip in mind/Materials?It CAN be done the way you were panning, But will take some Fabbing time....
These are the extra pieces
Do you have the steel mesh yet? I will go and grab the mig welder tomorrow and get some more done, Gotta get this thing finished up!! |

Eric- I've got the mesh. JP handed it off to me after the Monster Jam. If you need it today gimme a call and I'll bring it out, otherwise I'll bring it to the office. You pull this off and you could go into business!! I just KNOW the SS wool is going to give a better sound than whatever the Drummer uses. |

JP, While Eric has your can apart(that sounds wrong), why don't you have him weld an Oxygen sensor bung onto the tailpipe so you can install a sparkplug & make a flamethrower!! That would be cool!!! |

Hey guys'..I'm not posting to muck up another muffler thread but,is this mod possible while retaining the exhaust valve? BTW....excellent teamwork going on behind the scenes...we can see it I got to learn "Rotating my engine" today. Spark plug cables????? Mine aren't but the with of my thumbnail?SHORT. When i was a kid we did Moroso blue max solid core wires. But they may interfere with electronics.Wires?? |

No worries greg, I won't muck up this thread on your Ceramic Rotors....For the street? They look COOL AS HELL but how will they perform under "street" conditions? I would be a bit weary with them not getting up to temp...or am I wrong on this and they are a (?) dual compound? Not busting, Just really curious. Don't want ya to get hurt before I ride the bike ya know!!! under no circumstance should you read the owners manual of that bike..lol |

Greg, The stock wires are a bit short, I never liked them or the Pro Series ones,Real hard to get them on correctly. When the motor is down I usually Put the plugs/wires on then, Then when engine is back in place I would take the coil out and connect the wires, just to get them to "click" correctly. then reinstall the coil. I Went with Magna's this time, Much longer and the boots are excellent quality. I gotta stop at the speed shop after work and pick out the crimp tools for wires, Lost mine. I think I am going with the new MSD type, I never really liked the Idea of folding the core over on traditional plugs... Check it out here; http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/techarticles/939 98_spark_plug_wire_crimper/index.html |

Do any of you guys have the C-clip that goes on the top of the header? For some reason one of my C-Clips went for a walk. I had both clips and plates that holds the header on in a pile and now I only have both plates and 1 clip. The clip is just gone. |

Twitch ate it!!! Gotta watch to those small fingers...they find all sorts of goodies. Eric - looks COOL!!! I'll e-mail from work today... I'll probably pass on the flame thrower option (boring I know) but just for now...trying to get ready for MBV. |

Eric, you missed my question.I asked if the mod retains the exhaust valve. That'd be important to any future mod i consider. My CERAMIC rotors are often confused with the cheaper and more race oriented CARBON rotors.Good read on the subjectMine are EXCELLENT for use on the street.Ya gotta wonder though just what would prompt someone to run $1100 each rotors when $200 rotors could be fine. Depends on the budget i guess. Jim,will those plugs work with my stock XB? I need a set of XB plugs |

Sorry Greg.. The exhaust valve is still in there. It will be bypassed and blocked off, Can be reused in future if needed. Cool beans on the rotors then, I was a bit worried about them. Not Now...Glad to hear it! |

Yes they should be fine with a stock XB. I found my c-clip this morning. Must of kicked it under the bar. Exhaust is done, rear brake is done, working on replacing the springs & shims on the front rotor. I also have to hone the rotor and install my front brake set-up with some Lyndall Golds. I'm pretty much done after that until my coil/wires/plugs & tires come in. I should be ready to take it out next weekend if anyone's interested. If not then I'll at least take the Triumph out for a ride if it's nice out. |
