Cool shots Spike. That rear tire looks a bit smooth for the slick stuff. Jim N. - Come to think of it, my first gear did not have zippers. But you should have the opposite side of the zipper with your riding pants and can add it to the jacket. The Blast looks good, how's it sound? I know it took us several tries before we got the M2 jetted the way I liked it after adding the V&H muffler. We have the stock 200 main jet with a 50 pilot jet, up from 42 stock. Now the bike does not have that cough that stock Buells seem to have and the throttle response is right now. Hi G2! |

"Holy Shit this thing is fast" Jims only words after the test ride! The guys were hitting SMHD/Buell for a TPS reset and then heading north! Thanks again Jim! Hope you give that motor the hell it deserves! (Message edited by new12r on February 17, 2008) |

Well Carlos, I took it to Michaels this morning. The jetting is off so the bike only runs well at wide open throttle. That would be fine if we didn't have speed limits. Mark commented later that he had never seen someone push a Blast so hard. On the way home, I was coming up US-1 and all of a sudden "pop" and the bike would not run if I gave it any throttle. Hi Mark, can you bring me a carb boot. Mark got it started, and I rode it back to the house. We pulled the shim washers off the needle. It ran GREAT after that. It's finished! |

Jim - I like the bare bones look. It makes the Blast look tough. Webe and I rode today over to Goldsboro. He needed to ride his Blast so he took it today too. We had a good ride. When we got home the two little ones were waiting for us. I just do not feel comfortable with the little ones on the Uly. The reach for just me is fine but when I have the kids on the bike I have to be well within my comfort zone. The Blast was a different story. I dug out Carlee's first helmet which fits Baylee perfect now and took turns riding Baylee and Luke around the neighborhood. I have ridden Luke around the yard but this was the first time I rode him up the driveway and onto the street. As I pulled out on the street he said, "Hey, hey what are you doing?" After the lap he was ready to go again. Baylee actually has been around the block several times in the past. She has ridden all three bikes at one time or another but never out on the main drag. Both kids were all smiles. Thanks Webe, the Blast is the perfect bike to putt around the block with the little ones. G2 - We will have to figure out a time for that. Kristi is going out of town this weekend so I will be on Daddy duty. How long are you going to be working at the Triangle Park? |

They are two great guys and cant wait to go ride with them again. After all they are from our home town dealership Sheltons of Goldsboro. And yes they are gonna have to join C3. Later all ,Webe |

Jim - I like the bare bones look. Thanks. Thats more of an acknowledgment that the carb needed jet work than a fashion statement. |

Anybody know when the store opens for gas/food at the Dragon? Thinking about going on Wed around 11, problem is my friend has a KTM SMC that can go about 70 miles before fill ups. |

Back from the BMW Performance School after the 0ff-road course. It was very challenging and exhausting. 2 of the 4 students elected to watch towards the end due to exhaustion, cramps, and failing strength. Great exercises and enduro challenges with ever more challenging enduro laps after each exercise. Deep sand, water, ruts, deep gravel, emergency stopping on gravel, steep hills and descents, bike recovery techniques, whoops, turning technique, body english ... lots to do and learn. Apparently it went well as they want me back for the Instructor training, soon I hope. I was on their 1200GS with TKC's mounted. I had never ridden a GS and it's very different from my HP2. I was pretty amazed at it's capabilities for a big heavy bike, from quite a bit of single track to a 100' sand pit, 2.5' deep. I was happy not to drop it all day as there were many dropped bikes. So I got a $650 course for free and it appears the want me as a paid instructor in the future for classes and special events. I feel lucky .... and tired. Looks like same car, but the intercooler is probably front mounted rather than top., on the left side you can see the deep water kit. alittle deep for my my tastes |

I'll be over there this coming Friday, Saturday, & Sunday -- bad thing is I'll be doing a new install so it's a noon to midnight window. The next 12 weeks is all IDS upgrades so I should have some flexibility "uh, I can only write that specific signature while having a steak with this guy named Nance." Freaking idiots rented me for 3 months to write a pile of leakage signatures G2 |

Sportymark, Sweet singing boxer I went with the Cobb on the last one, but on this one I'm seriously considering the open-source solution. Unless I can convince my wife that I must have the '08 STI. Jim, I'll have the Uly over there soon -- when the weather's bad I'll be in my WRX. |

Creeker - Shade Valley and US-421 is a blast. That the road north out of the Shady Valley to US-58 in Virginia and head east. That is also a great section of road. I wish I could but I can not break away for any long trips until MBV. As for the Subarus 0 I dig the WRX also. I had a Dodge GLH Turbo when I was a young pup and would love to have a freaked out 4-door to embarrass the sport car guys again. Back in the mid-80s the GLH would out run Z-28s, run heads up with Mustang GT in the straights and flat out run them in the curves. I beat Mustangs and G-Nationals at the Drag Strip. Lost a bracket race to a Monte Carlo SS that I gave it a 1/2sec handicap. After catching and leaving the 305 - V8 SS by the 1/8 mile mark, I put it in neutral and waited for the Monte to catch up. It never did. I coasted from the 1/8 mile mark to the 1/4 mile mark and still broke out of the dial in time of 15.6sec with a 15.42sec @ 47mph. The latest WRX reminds me a lot of the original GLH. |

it is in the process of moving....E is outsourceing the sales to a friend as he is expecting his first kid any week now. On the WRX we used teh Enginuity open source tuning, seems pretty nice, I am running fully catless now, need to work on alittle more quiet, but the tune seems good. Maybe int eh future, a larger top mount, and maybe a VF34 turbo and some injectors. I have a EJ25 2.5 block but no $ for a full build! |

You need to take Kristi for a ride and she'll be sold She was a demon in the GLH. She worked for GE in Cincinnati at the time and had fun picking on the Engineers and their Audi's. The funniest story was the day I was riding in our defecto-directors '73 Rally Charger with a 340 Magnum. This was my favorite old Mopar he had. It was a beautiful red with a rainbow reflective stripe down each side and a budge hood with the 340 Magnum badges on each side. We took off down an entrance ramp with Kristi following in the GLH. He floored it and I looked back to see the GLH firmly planted on the Charger's rear bumper. Dave made comment that on bottom end the GLH had the advantage but at freeway speed he would leave her. As we hit the end of the entrance ramp the Charger was breaking 100mph. I looked back to see Kristi changing into the left lane and pulling along side. She waved and passed by pulling in front and continued to pull away. I looked at Dave and asked, "So when is the Charger going to leave her?" He never looked at me. Just said, "Shut up" Then again I better stay away from WRXs. The kids fear her as it is. |
