Well, I got back last night from a few days in Orlando for work. I had to see the 'Historic Factory' Harley Dealership in Orlando. A little attitude here, don't ya think?
That attitude might have something to do with the increase in motorcycle fatalities, especially form lesser experienced riders. Just thinking out loud... Sure looks kinda like the old Juneau Ave. factory - which is now all offices - and it's even on 37th street in Orlando. In Milwaukee it's at 37th and Juneau.
For both places the most noteworthy element is the water tower on the roof.
I just had to take this picture...I was thinking to myself as I was taking this picture - Hmmm, on good days it must sound like a traffic jam with all them horns honking...
I was rather disappointed by what Orlando H-D had to offer, so it was a little further up the road to my next destination... To Be Continued... 1313 |

My next stop was at the Seminole Buell Shop.
The only standalone Buell shop in the US.
They give a 15% discount for BadWeB members. They also carry Big Dog, and had a few custom H-D's on the floor, but their parent Harley dealer is located elsewhere. And, yes, those are some Japanese cruisers parked outside of the dealership. But once you step foot inside it gets quite interesting.
Look at all them Buells!
Hmmm...Seminole's 2007 Pegasus award...They must be doing something right...
All around the store they had these huge (24" x 36" is my guess) Buell photo posters.
The one below is my favorite. Can you make out what it is a picture of?
I think it was definitely a cool place. In case you don't trust my judgment, maybe this might convince you that this is on the list of cool places.
I figured since I was so close I had to stop in and check out one of the businesses that keep popping up with weird charges in my bank account...Hopefully I will also be able to do the same thing this weekend during U4euh's motor swap and drop in on Stone Mountain... 1313 |

U4euh, I'm still thinking about making the trip, if there's enough room left. I'll give you a call around 3:00, might call Rubberdown on my lunch break to see what's up. Later... |

F'n "A", got an e-mail ... they want me at the Performance Center tomorrow to participate/observe an off-road class. Short notice, but I'll jump through all the hoops I have to. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. 1313, nice time to be in Florida!!! I vote for more Stand-alone Buell shops! |

1125r's, xb12ss, and xb12r's will be available for testing on the track. I'm glad to see they are expanding that portion of the program. It really is a fantastic way to introduce people to the bikes. |

I was reading the gear requirements, which look like they have changed from last year. Apparently textile gear is only approved if the bottom and top zip together. Am I reading this right? |

Jim- I haven't read the requirements for this years Inside Pass, but I wouldn't be surprised if they required textile to be zipped together. Many trackday organizations won't even allow leathers to be unzipped. You may want to check and see if Vanson is a sponsor this year. At the last Inside Pass event Jordan was able to borrow a set of Vanson leathers at no cost for the entire event. |

Jim - Most gear comes with zippers, but the problem comes in when you have different manufacturers. my Olympia Jacket will not zip into my Tour Master pants. I believe I will have to get Kristi to pull out that must have Singer that has been moth balled since we got it, and replace on of the zippers so they match. 1313 - Great pics. Rubberdown - You da man Mike! Mikethebike72 - Its great to have Ray Price on board. I hope they will be come more active with C3 and Badweb in general. |

I've inspected my gear. There is a zipper in my first gear pants. My first gear Kilimanjaro jacket does not seem to have a matching zipper. Am I just missing it? Greg - Lunch would be great. You working weekdays? |

Seminole Buell shop - great guys. I bought my firebolt from them last year and will definitely consider my next Buell from them as well. It was a long ride back to NC from the delivery though! |

Had a great ride today. I rode ~150 miles with my buddy Dave on his R1150R, then on my way home I spotted a trail and had to check it out: I fully admit to chickening out on this next section. I rode through it the first time, but was completely reduced to paddling while the bike went where it wanted. Since my Sidi Vertigos offer even less traction than worn Scorpion Syncs in the mud I was really having to work to keep everything upright. When I came back through this section I rode through the grass, which was equally wet, but offered more traction.
