I just picked up a swing arm for my S1 and it has a scratch on each side that are very small, not a bike falling scratch, just a careless in the garage onece it was off. If I sand blast the swing arm will this make these less noticeable? I don't really want a polished swing arm so I want to make it have that nice even texture and not sure where to go with it. Any ideas? |

Yes, but, be aware, that you will have to blast the whole thing.. That is a coating on there.. and its a pain to remove. In fact, if you remove the coating, you just might remove the scratch, that stuff is tough and thick.. Chase |

Can I chemically remove the coating and if so can I put another similar coating on so the aluminium won't be porous? |

Are you interested in getting rid of your old S1 Swingarm? |

I don't know how long it will take but yeah, I will be getting rid of it. It is the updated/braced one. |

Yes, the coating can be chemically removed... In fact, get a good "Aircraft Stripper" Or "Aircraft Remover" Put that stuff on there, let is soak.. the coating will for the most part work its way off... As far as being porous... thats how the swing arm is, so, you would have alot of sanding ahead of you to clean it up.. I got some pics somewhere.. Chase |

If it's braced, I'm not interested, but I appreciate your reply. Thank you, John |

If it's braced, I'm not interested, but I appreciate your reply. Thank you, John Is the braced one that they issued for the recall not as good as the original ones? |
