Hi, I'm new here with my new (to me) Buell....just picked it up this past weekend. I'm coming from a '95 Katana 750...and from the little bit i've gotten to ride my new hotness I can't believe what I've been missing. I think I impregnated my jeans on the test ride. Anyways, I'm looking forward to being a part of the buell community, learning the ins and outs, getting dirty with the bike, and one day contributing back (once i've upgraded from noob status). Here's some pics: bama |

Sweet ride. Welcome to the BadWeB! ...I'm looking forward to being a part of the buell community... Well then, come on over to March Badness and you can meet a bunch of us. If you like to ride the twisties, you'll love MB-V. |

Sweet! Welcome to the Buell family! What's the story on those front signals? What other mods does it have? Or more importantly, what mods are you planning? (Message edited by towjam on February 12, 2008) |

I have the same front signals. $15 from Chaparral. Short stalk V black is what I think they are called. Great looking bike. I love how it is orange and black without that stupid "I wanna be a Harley" look. |

Thanks for the compliments. The only mods done thus far that I know of are the front signals and the custom paint. As far as what I have planned......well that depends on how expensive and DIY it is, since according to my wife the bike was basically my christmas/b'day present for the next couple of years (damn I hope she was joking). Anyways, I got some dual star mirrors on the way, as I don't like the stock mirror (singular) nor do I like the widening effect of bar end mirrors. I'm gonna use those till I can fabricate a nicer mount myself. I probably won't do any performance mods for at least a year or so, that way I can appreciate what the Buell does stock and can better see the value of the upgrades. What I'm most likely to do first is some custom lighting. While I've previously looked at LED underlighting and such as being squid-ish, I have recently had an appreciation for as much light as possible having a near miss at a red light at night. I think some custom lighting could be done cleanly to make the bike more visible without looking like crap. I am big into microcontrollers/electronics/sensors (thanks to my job), so I will probably work on some neat things with that.....i.e. led tail light that blinks faster/stronger as cars approach from behind or the harder you brake, led underlighting that adjusts to ambient light levels or acceleration, lighting under the airbox to make it glow, etc. I'm still not sure if I like the look of this stuff, but if it can keep me safer I'll grow to like it, especially if i design and make it myself. As for the gathering in GA, looks like fun and I will look into making a day trip over there to meet yall. bama |

Yeah I wouldn't mind having the handguards for the bike.....I see that american sportbike has them for 80, can a dealership order you some for less? |

Wow-both bikes look awesome with the orange paint!!!! I have always been partial to orange (most of my HDs have been orange) but the CityX looks wild with just the right combination of black/silver/orange. |

I found those lights in a dual filament (running light) variety. deet's here http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/321363.html?1197655578 |

Thanks for the welcome. Glad to see there's some other orange bikes out there. I don't believe it is a stock color, the guy I bought my bike from paints bikes professionally and he did a real nice job on it. Looks even better in person. I finally got to ride it to work today and man is it a fun bike. Oh, it's a 2006. |

Its a balaclava for the heat, you soak it cold water and it keeps your head cool, yeah it may look funny, but it beats a hot hell-mutt head. Function over decoration, every time. |
