I have the M2 Race kit (intake, muffler, header) EXCEPT for the race ignition. What benefits are there to the race ignition if any? Any problems with not running one with this set up? Isn't there a current Screaming Eagle ignition which will work in the place of the now obsolete Buell race ignition? |

From what I understand, the M2 race ignition has the same advance curve as the stock ignition, but has a 'harder' limiter at the 6800rpm cut off. I have the race ignition on my M2 (it was part of the Pro Series race kit). I really couldn't tell a difference on the street, but it might be different on a track if you were at sustained high rpm for most of the time. I'd save the money for something else unless you just want one for the sake of having one. I do like being able to say "I have one", but that's the only real benefit I get from it. |

Did you see this? It's right above the thread topics... dyno tests and all. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/10398.html?1059591514 |

Interesting. That's what I thought (minimal benefit), but it's always good to check around first. |
