Hey gang. I don't have an 1125 but thought I out to pass on a concern. If the 1125 should by chance backfire through the exhaus the single wall construct of the back section will "pop out" and contact the rear tire. Only on pre-production bikes. Custodian/Editor Blake Buell just found out about the problem last week and I believe they are already on the ball to fix it. by the way the training class I attended was way cool...and NO you cannot check the oil on the sidestand. Thanks I can not wait till all the problems get worked out on these bikes but I have to, my bike is the shop now and I know now it is going to be there for a while to get these issues worked out, but I hope I will get back a bike that has no problems soon. Mike |

That does not sound good... Well lets hope she does not backfire. How thin is the steel used for the shell? |

This is not a concern for production 1125Rs. |

Thanks Anonymous, the bike is awesome and I hope Buell gets all the bugs worked out by spring so I can enjoy my last summer of freedom and make it to Buells homecoming. Mike |

+1 Welcome back, Anony, you've been missed. Thanks for the update. I STILL haven't been able to sell the Sportster, so I haven't bought my 1125R yet. So, to keep my obsession Fuell'ed I keep reading all these posts. Love the good posts, but keep searching for an Anonymous to speak to some of the bad ones (dead batteries, dimpled mirrors, etc.) |

o' my... the idea of something being blown out to the tire makes me feel like a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. I had a backfire/stall on the parkway this past Friday. Cruising northbound on west side approaching the Henry Hudson bridge. I was coming in a bit hot right around 6k RPMs - let of the gas completely and POP. Nice little backfire and the engine stalled. Luckily we were all slowing down for the toll booths, so I had time to find neutral and fire up again as I slowed down.. |

anonymous by any chance can you get me the output of the charging system at 4000 rpm, it is rated at 432 watts at 7000 rpm but I cruise at 70 mph on the hyway and the motor is spinning at 4300 rpms and this would help me figure out if I have a problem or not. Mike |

Production #524 with 1000+miles now has backfired...or bf'd as we'll call it to end this drama...countless times but no worries of split welds or sheet metal on the factory can. For whatever this is worth, I ride her hard and if there was a problem, would already fired up the tig and let you all know of this before now! |

Neither, my son is 18 so now I have freedom from being responsible, but I will have to support him through college starting in the fall so I will be broke paying for school and other things, plus I take care of my 91 year old grandmother. I am crossing my fingers that she stays well enough so I can get away for a few weeks here and there, go to Buells homecoming, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the dragon before she needs me close to home, it is not easy watching someone deteriorating and the problems they have, this is why I bought the 1125R so I can get out for a quick blast at illegal speeds, hit the drag strip, and do track days to get an adrenalin rush to bring me back to sanity. Mike that is really great of you to pay for your sons education. Its a major pain to have to pay for it yourself... I am just jealous... |

Thanks Interex, I to get Jealous that my dad was not like me and do the things I do for my son, and my son still listens to me. I bought him a Buell blast for his birthday in November, it is 23 degrees out and he went to his friends house on the bike so he is taking after me. Mike |

Thanks Nick I hope I can make it to homecoming to meet allot of you guys that are on here, and have been very helpful and funny at times, I also am trying to get my son to go, he is a newbie and rides a beat up blast, and we went on his first real ride Christmas day so turning 18 is a year he will always remember, and has a ulysses waiting for him when he gets confident and it will be registered in May, I can not wait to see his face when he rides a real bike, I should not says that it started today when many bike would not at these temps, 17 degrees right now, and most riders do not ride at these temps either.
