I think you'll be happy with 'em. Got mine a couple of weeks ago and they look good on the bike. Can't wait to put some miles on them. Have you ever used the M3's before? This is my first set. |

My M3's are the bee's knees. They will take you as deep into any corner as you care to go, and stick like glue to wet pavement as well. |

Never used em. I am changing out the original Dunlops that came on the Cyclone from 2001. I read a bunch of good stuff cant wait to rip it up. |

Here is a little report on the life of the Metzler M3 on a Uly. I just replaced both front and rear. The tires are not to the wear marks but a track day looms so I changed them. Front kept at 39-40 lbs had 7,702 miles Rear kept at 40-42 lbs had 4,554 miles. Metzler says tire mileage goes down as pressure is lowered and I purposely kept the pressure pretty high. Once you depart from the original factory tires the pressure recommendations should be determined by the tire supplier rather than the bike manufacturer. When the tires are new, this is fine really but the ride seems to harden a little as the rubber wears. Traction seemed very good to me but I am far from a tire expert. The only thing I noticed minor slips on was some tar snakes. These tires had 1 track day on them, some longer trips and many daily commutes. I weigh about 220 with boots and gear on etc. Cost per mile on the front was $0.015 and cost per mile on the rear was $0.031 for a cost per mile combined of $0.046 in use. I could get another 500 miles on them IMO before hitting the wear marks. I replaced them with a fresh set of Metzlers for the track day. I run the pressures lower at the track. |
