Dear Santa, Although the holidays are about 333 days away, I wanted to get a head start with my wish list. Today I sold my XB12Ss. It was my first Buell and it brought me 15k (s)miles. The day I took delivery of this bike I couldn't shake the feeling that something was odd, almost as if something was missing. A week later I joined 15+ local Buell owners for my first group ride. Some of them had Buell Race Mufflers and one of them had a Drummer... After listening to the beautiful tones I took a liking to the Drummer and realized that this was the missing component for me... 14k of those 15k miles were on a Drummer Santa, I purchased a new 1125r today and I'm having that same feeling.. This is a beautiful machine and I'm looking forward to enjoying many smiles on it.... I just need a little fix. I've been good. I don't race the engine to disturb my neighbors and I don't do "flybys". I only received three traffic violations and I've paid them all. Santa, will you help me? |

I will be patient and I will not put any aftermarket pipe on this bike unless its a Drummer. period. |

As soon as that 1125 drummer comes out, maybe I'll buy one and then ask Santa for the 1125. |

Nick why do you like the drummer so much? I had a D&D exhaust and was way to loud, I seen the D&D exhaust for the 1125R and will get damaged if you wipe out, so I am looking for an exhaust that sounds like a drummer that I heard or a buell race pipe if they come out with one. let me know why you like the drummer. because it sounds great. nice deep low pounding. not raspy or tinny sounding. also because it performs great. power everywhere. i have an ss one on my 9 and a regular drummer on my 12. it mad a big improvement over my D&D. |

I'd be surprised to see a "factory" race pipe that was everything I'd want, in even a muffler. |

I fell in love with the Drummer's tone. Louder than stock with a deep thunder sound to it. Get the RPMs up to 6k on the XB12 and it just screams, But cruising around at 3k is like a spring thunderstorm. Every other pipe just sounds more raspy to me. Kevin is also a pleasure to deal with and has certainly won me over as dedicated customer. Power was nice and constant at the low RPM range and my XB also ran cooler with the Drummer and the fan usage dropped dramatically. I will patiently wait for Kevin to deliver one for the 1125r even if it means waiting till September. |

Hey Nick Kevin wrote me back and said he does not want to rush in and rather take his time and make the best, I agree and I also want the best and not give up the flat tq band it has, plus would not by an exhaust that will get crushed in a accident like the D&D will, and it just does not look right on the bike. Kevin, take your time. The pipe you did for my Ulyssys is the best pipe conversion I've ever had done on any of my bikes and there have been a bunch over the last 30 years! Torque rules dude, you showed me that! Are you coming back to Nashville to race this year? |

Zcat what did Kevin do for an exhaust for the ulysses? did he rework the stock exhaust and how loud was it, I had a D&D on the ulysses but sold it, it was way to loud and now my son has the bike and want to know what is available for the ulysses from drummer, the stock exhaust from the 1125r is very complex and this is something that is going to take some time to figure out and I think that the stock exhaust reworked for a little louder nice sound would be my choice right now, but going to wait till I see what everyone comes out with for the bike. Bagger, Get your son a Drummer! Send the stock pipe in for work or if you can't be without it, buy a used XB12 pipe on eBay and send that in. You wont regret it and your son will love it. http://web.mac.com/nick.caro/Site/-_1.html (Message edited by nickcaro on February 09, 2008) |

Mike, just send a stock exhaust to Kevin and let him work his magic. Sound is perfect, not to loud and obnoxious, just right. There is a reason people who have used Drummers are willing to wait for Kevin to develop a pipe for their 1125 and that alone speaks volumns. On my Uly, the pipe increased Torque and throttle response across the band. IMHO there is nothing worse than a loud pipe that moves the powerband to right before red-line at the expense of bottom-end and midrange. He took an awesome powerband and magnified it without ruining the torque and torque is what makes a Buell fun. To top it all off, Kevin is a great guy who is available himself to help you out with your pipe decision and any questions you have about installing it. This is what he rides and this is what he knows -BUELL! |

Thanks Zcat I think I will get an exhaust off ebay cheap and send it to him, I dented my exhaust so I will need a better one for him to rework it. Mike |

Bagger, if you have the budget you can also consider going for the Drummer SS and you wont need to send a pipe in. |

Hi Nick it is my sons bike now and I get to ride it when I need it and I would like to have more sound and power but it is up to him, he wanted a quiet bike but heard the bike with the D&D on it, right now he is riding the blast and I am riding the ulysses while I wait for my bike to get fixed and have allot of things to do to the 1125R so that is were my budget is going, but I am sure he would want it if he heard a Drummer exhaust, plus like all of us we always want more power that is why we bought the 1125R right. Mike, the Drummer on your son's Uly will have that sweet "Harley" sound that everybody loves, just not too much of it. On the stock pipe he cuts the end off and installs a nice looking Aluminum plate with his logo etched in and a large SS pipe,it looks trick. |
