I'm figuring 300-400 250 on gas, from wisconsin and back, as well as during the event. 100 for food/lodging (camping it), beer, shirt/patches. |

Those vids with gravel are some of the "worse conditioned" roads in the area. But they are also some of the most technical, keep your 'A' game on roads. There are roads in better condition with juast as much fun with a little more speed. Don't worry! With all the rides that are going on, you'll find at least one road you'll fall in love with. Mine is a toss between 60 out o fSuchas towards the cabin, or the RBR run into Helen, (Helena?) |

Whats your budget for MBV? Less than MBIV! 3 people $350 in gas $333 cabin fee (beer, breakfast & munchies included) $150 lunch & dinners $833/3 = $278 per person |

If all works out as planned, I'll be riding for 6 days. Thur. - Sun. at TWO $36 camping $20 T-Shirt $80 for food $136 Sun. - Wed. slowly heading up the Blue Ridge Parkway $30 camping $20 souvenir $50 food $100 Total mileage will be between 1500 and 2500... which will be somewhere around $100-$200 I'm guessing I'll be between $350 and $450. There's always the chance of me destroying my tires AGAIN, which will add another $50-$150 to the trip, but then I'll pass on the extra days of riding. |

I've done my first prep on the Uly for MBV. I washed it. Didn't even realize that it had been about three months since the last time. Got to love a bike where all of the hardware is the color of road grime! Got a laugh today at a local Deputy. He was coming the other way and frantically flashed his wig-wag headlights while pointing at my headlights. When I figured out what he was pointing at I was really looking forward to meeting him, but he didn't turn around. I've had to explain the one light thing to so many people. Next weekend; get out the tent and sleeping gear. |

Next weekend; get out the tent and sleeping gear. I'm excited for my new gear! I got a new ultra compact 2 person tent, backpacking 0 degree mummy bag, 4" thick single person air mattress, and inflatable pillow. All of which will easily fit in the new rear seat bag!

I am glad I am not the only one "procurring" gear for the trip. I ended up buying a new sleeping bag for the trip. Only because I didn't have one to begin with. I got a sweet little 10"x5" packed Lafuma at a local sports store for $25! I should wash my Uly, as I only washed it once last year and looking at it in my garage it has tons of bug guts on it...Maybe..maybe not. I still need to clean and oil my K&N, re-route my heated vest wiring, buy a set of tires and get them mounted. My D616's won't make the trip down there and back...heck they probably wouldn't make it another 200 miles. |

I wish that he'd take it back down. It's -2 with a 23mph wind right now. Boy I'd love to have 51 deg and go riding. It's getting so close to the date that I can almost taste it. |

Didn't make it up today, so I've been riding in the sunny 61o out on the streets of Gwinnett. Made it over to New12r's place to play on the (new to him) dirt bike. WHAT A HOOT! Who knew a 60cc bike would rip like that! I'm guessing you're the responsible party? Guilty |

For those interested.... Friday will probably be a ride to the Dragon/ Cherohola Skyway. Be ready, side stands up from T.W.O. at 0900 (9:00 AM) sharp! I have led 3 of these rides without incident. The ride pace is moderate but, REMEMBER, RIDE AT YOUR OWN PACE!!! There will be stops along the way so nobody gets lost! |

I am really looking forward to MBV. My schedule is going to be tight. I am driving out from CO with either a XB12R or a S1W in the truck. If I have the rebuild on the S1W done by then I will bring it. I will stop in J'ville NC (1800 miles from here) to visit with the folks then I hope to drive down to GA on Friday and stay one or two nights before heading home to Colorado. Looks like I will miss the Dragon ride but I can always plan for next year. Does anyone know if the XB12XT will be available for demo rides? |

We are traveling to Maryville tennessee Thursday which is really close to the Dragon. We would like to meet up with ya's Friday at the Dragon and then travel back to Suches with you. Do you have a "time" you think you could post as to when you would approximately be there so we could hook up? Jerry and Carol |

Jerry, The group that will already be at Suches will be heading out at 9:00 on Friday morning. That should put them there at around 11:00. You'll know when the group gets there. There will be too many Buells to count. |
