Looking for some insight from the collective on which tire changer on the market is considered best in the moderate price range. Thinking about with the new set up tires coming soon to just get one go for a DIY. I've heard some about the Harbor Freight model but thats about it. |

I do it the cheap way. Two 4x6 blocks (salvaged from a construction site), and three 15" tire irons. Before I buy a tire changer, I want to get a Balancing Stand. |

The harbor freight changer is ok for the $$$ but if you're not careful you WILL scratch a wheel. (I'm not that carefull and have the scratches to prove it) If you got the $$$ go for the no-mar changer. I have the Marc Parnes balancer and love it. |

We have a friend that has the NoMar Tire Changer. So far, so good. He's also had excellent customer service from NoMar. Mark has the receiver hitch style, makes it real easy to put in the back of the truck and change tires anywhere. He also purchased the balancer with it. |

If you have a Harbor Frieght set up, you MUST get this: http://home.comcast.net/~prestondrake/mojoweb.htm And This: http://home.comcast.net/~prestondrake/mojoblocks.h tm Makes it a heck of a lot easier and you will NOT scratch you stuff. There are many positive reviews about the Mojo Blocks and Lever on the web. I just had my Pa invest in this and will have first hand account of whether or not it works, in a few weeks. |
