Here's an intersting question. Could a S2 be converted into an RS using these components? Would they just bolt up? |

They should even the old RR1200 frame is almost identical to the S2 |

Hmmm? Find me an S2 with some beat up bodywork. Convert it to an RSS for around $5,000. Then Nallinize the beast and have a screamer for around $7,000!! This could be an intersteing year!!! |

Spiderman. call Buell in East Troy and ask for Tom Anglim. They may have pieces available. Toughest part may be the hinge pieces. Converting an S2 to an RSS??? I bet you could do it JUST DON'T DO ANYTHING THAT CAN'T BE UNDONE. the S2 is gonna be a serious collectors pieces one of these days. Not that many made and lots of handwork on those babies. dave |

"the S2 is gonna be a serious collectors pieces one of these days." I keep hearing that, and I keep wishing the original paperwork and accessories were kept with my bike instead of probably sitting in some previous owner's desk drawer or hanging on their garage wall. Oh well, mine's a rider I guess. |

Spiderman, I doubt that any but the cleanest, lowest number S2, will do anything like that amount of appreciation. I could see clean S2's selling for what they originally sold for with low serial number bikes increasing qutie a bit. Others that may sell for more than orignailluy would be low serial number S1's and WL S1's this is of course all dependent on sales numbers, condition and originality. They sold way to many M2's for those to climb in value anytime soon. Eventually they probably will but I don't see them reaching any real hieghts. the best investment you can make is to RIDE EM |

>>>>the best investment you can make is to RIDE EM Therein, boys and girls, is what TEAM ELVES is all about. Aaron has, arguably, one of the most likely to appreciate RR-1000's. He sit on it? Mothball it? He took it to Bonneville Salt Flats, fired it at 184+ down the nasty corrosive Salt and shattered a bucketful of Land Speed Records. His pristine RS-1200 was given to me to RIDE to a museum. I've a nice collection of French poster art, I hope it appreciates. Motorcycles, to me, are FUN. The ones that are the MOST fun stay and get ridden. So far the "permanents" are the Cushman and the S-2. Buying a motorcycle for potential resale rivals investing in like playing the Triple Q's with your retirement fund. Just my thoughts...... |

hey i was just sputering out what i heard over the grape vine, I ride mine so hard i have gone through One recal shock and 4 sets of tires in less than two years. Dont get me wrong i know "racers" go through more but hell my M2 by no means is a collectors bike. It is ridden like a raped ape. |

Dave, Notice what I said about finding an S2 with trashed bodywork to do this to. My S2 is definately not in mind when I said that. BTW, mine is number 14 and I still have all the signature series stuff with it, timing cover, build card and box!!! |
