I am looking at coming out from Washington to attend the Homecoming in July. I will be heading to Michigan first to visit my dad and then over to Wisconsin. As I am not familiar with the Milwaukee area and don't really want to spend $150.00 bucks a night at the host hotel, I hope you can help with suggestions for someplace to stay. I would prefer someplace close to the festivities but not too expensive(if you know what I mean). Any help would be appreciated!! |

look at motels in the Racine / Kenosha, Wisconsin area since Summer Fest will be going on in Milwaukee during the Buell Homecoming week. It's close by and fun riding to the events from there. I live in Northern Illinois and I will be riding to all the events which will be only a short drive for me. |

Stewadi; there's a Motel 6 in Brookfield (same town as the Host hotel)with rooms for $66/night for 3 adults. The Super 8 in Racine that we stayed in last summer for Homecoming wanted more than the Sheraton in Brookfield! (Message edited by Crusty on February 05, 2008) |

There's also a SelectInn and a couple of other hotels/motels nearby. |

Thanks for the suggestions. I just checked the Sheraton site and for the dates of Homecoming the least expensive room was $132.00 a night. Crusty. The Motel 6 on West Bluemound looks like the ticket, More my price range and only 3 miles from the host hotel. Thanks (Message edited by stewadi on February 05, 2008) |

You must call the Sheraton and mention the Buell group to get the rate. |

I'd call them to see if they even have any rooms left at the negotiated rate. There were a finite number of rooms if I recall reading somewhere. You may as well reserve your room - you can cancel the day before arriving. |

Buelliedan - you may end up with lots of folks after an offer like that, LOL. How much acreage do you have? I'll bring the weedwacker-margaritamaker |

Grumpy This is my parents house which is about 2 miles from Hals. They have 3/4 off an acre so there should be plenty of room for tents but I will be bringing my own trailer so I don't think there will be room for another unfortunately. I would just park your trailer at the host hotel unless they tell you to move it. Maybe even Hals will let you park it there if you ask nicely. The one thing everybody needs to understand is we will not have any bathroom or shower facilities available at my house. There is a creek in the backyard if you are really hardcore!! ;) (Message edited by buelliedan on February 05, 2008) |

I can probably manage a garden hose. Might even be able to provide a portable RV type toilet and a shower curtain or something like that. |
