Anyone had insurance problems ? I was shocked when I called my agent , I was quoted between $2100.00 and $2800.00 , the same was true from various providers including Progressive and Geico ! I'm 41 , have no points on my license , good credit , I carry a valid endorsement for over 24years . Thank God for Harley insurance services I "saved ALOT of money" has anyone else had a similar experience ?

Yep Harley was half the price of the lowest quote I got from anyone else. I think part of the problem is the insurance companies have never heard of the 1125R. They kept telling me there was no such bike.

I currently have insurance through Geico on a Ulysses and a V-rod. I was looking at replacing the V-rod and my insurance would go up roughly $352.00. I pay $250.00 a year and the 1125R would be $600.00 with a 250 deductible. I haven't tried Harley insurance but it was higher for me when I was shopping for the Ulysses.

I would highly recommend you give Dairyland a call.

I don't know the full history, but they apparently sponsored a Buell race team and give Buell owners a nice break.

I personally go through these folks;

http://www.mcinsurance.com/

They gave me a yearly rate that was $300 lower than the dealer AND the dealer was already going to Dairyland...

Safeco
my bill for adding the 1125R to my existing policy with my XB9SX only added about $170.00 / total is about $750.00 for both
(don't have the numbers in front of me so I am guessing a bit)

I called Dairyland/Utica, they don't do motorcycle insurance in North Carolina(sigh). Geico and Progressive quoted me $1200 and $1400 respectively for the 1125R. Full coverage through HD was about $600 and that was much better coverage on limits than Geico or Progressive.

Has anyone tried Sentry, I thought Buell had a deal with them and was gonna give 1125 owners a deal?

My Progressive quote came at $1402/year, and my Dairyland came back as $313.25/year

I'll be going with Dairyland as soon as I can sell this damn sportster...

I had the exact same experience, thurstonbuell. $5400/yr from Nationwide (who has my 2 cars + house). After I recovered from the shock (1/2 the price of the bike to cover it with insurance) I started looking around. The lowest internet quote was $1400 from Progressive. I called Sentry/Dairyland, about $600/yr I was sold and relieved.

I'm less than $400 from Geico, not sure why others have been getting higher, they were the cheapest for me...

FYI If you get a quote through HD they are checking Dairyland, Progressive, Safeco, Foremost and one other whose name eludes me right now. You can also talk with the insurance people there and make adjustments to your policy over the phone at the dealer to make it fit what you need. So just because the dealer quotes you a price you may be able to change it up with more deductable or changes to other coverages.

My insurance is through HD. They told me it was with GMAC although it says "Integon" on the insurance card.

just my two cents or one mans view from 2,000 feet.

I got a quote at the dealer that went through Dairyland.
The next day I got a quote from Dairyland through a private agent and it was $300 less....

just shop around.

State Farm is the way to go. I had Markel insurance, and it went up to over $1500 when I moved from California to Missouri. State Farm is over $800 cheaper than what I was paying.

Not to beat a dead horse but I had state farm on my Firebolt 1200 and their only raising my rate a couple bucks a month to 40 something on my 1125r, mind you this is in combination with all the other stuff that I have insured with them. Plus for all the years me and my entire family has been with state farm I really can't complain about the service either.

Four bikes, including an 1125R. Two with full coverage, two with liability only. $608/year for everything. Progressive. California.

The 1125R started out at $800/year alone. But I had two policies. By combining everything into a single policy and retaining only myself as a rider, it reduces the number of miles on each bike, and lowers the cost.

Nor here in NJ...

Just got a quote from Geico for my 07 Uly= $892. Blah. That's the lowest coverage needed, and I also have 3 other vehicles with them.

Time to shop.

I would get full coverage unless you paid cash for it. I already had my 1125R stolen last week. I also had gap and I am going through the process right now.

That's odd, Geico looked mine up, listed it as a Loki (like the title). Of all the major brands, Geico was the cheapest for me.

Progressive wanted literally thousands more a year than the 450/yr Sentry offered me. 450 a year with 250 deductibles for a single 25 year old punk, with a speeding ticket, sounded great to me! Plus, they are great people to deal with, VERY UNLIKE progressive.

Just saying progressive makes me want to.......

If you are in NJ go with Allstate, I pay 850 for full coverage. I do have other policies with them so that helps, but none the less it is much lower than anyone else I have seen.
