Anyone else want to lynch Bertman here and use him for snowball target practice? This winter SUCKS! The previous 3-4 years, I was able to ride pretty much year 'round. This winter, it's a no-go. Too much snow. |

Last two years I was riding 1st week of a March here in Chicago. Usually wait for the first big rain to get rid of the slick as snot salt residue. Good time to ride as it is way too cold for the squids to be out, and you are such an oddity even the cell phone makeup applying soccer moms notice you. I can't wait. New Oxtar boots, Held gloves and Alpine* Bat pants wait to be broken in. |

Salt, and sand keep me from riding. Well, okay, I dont care much for the cold either. The first ride of spring after a couple good rains clean the roads off, thats what I live for. Im hoping because winter came in like a lion, it will go out like a lamb. |

Odd.......hmmmmm......Gotj, Orangulius, a KLR rider and myself went out for about four hours of riding back roads in the valleys of East Tennessee today. Forties to lower fifty degree day, sunny, not too bad. Didn't even turn on the electrics. |

On Gobbler's Knob on this fabulous Groundhog Day, February 2nd, 2008 Punxsutawney Phil, the Seer of Seers, Prognosticator of all Prognosticators, Rose to the call of President Bill Cooper and greeted his handlers, Ben Hughes and John Griffiths. After casting a weathered eye toward thousands of his faithful followers, Phil consulted with President Cooper and directed him to the appropriate scroll, which proclaimed: "As I look around me, a bright sky I see, and a shadow beside me. Six more weeks of winter it will be!" Thinking about side dishes to go with braized rodent... deep fried okra comes to mind. |

I live near Detroit, but I'm working in Nashville for a while. 3 weeks ago I went home after a week of watching bikers ride in decent weather. I loaded my Uly on the trailer in the snow in Michigan the cold weather follow me south. Last week there was a day that made it into the 50's, but there was a thunderstorm that seemed like a hurricane to a midwest native like me. Today there was snow on my truck and it was 26 degrees when I left for work. When I got home around sunset it was over 50. I finally got the bike out for a ride. It was a short ride but it was great to be back on the bike. The funny thing is I was working nashville in January a few years ago - before I was a rider - and it was in the 70s the whole time. |

Saturday was beautiful, Sunday it rained. Repeat after me....warm weather, no rain...warm weather, no rain... |

Keep it up Kristi. It is working for us out here it seems? I'm guessing after a comment like that Bertman will have company in the snowball lynching. |

I'll cheer you all up. I live not to far from Lake Superior. We have been snow covered and frozen since before Thanksgiving. I fully expect it to be this way until the ice on the lakes breaks up mid to late April. How do you all feel now, better I hope! |
