many of you 1125 owners sold your XB's for the opportunity to own a new 1125 and my question is, is there anything you miss about your old bike? anything that you feel like you compromised to get the 1125? i was not willing to get rid of my CITYX for the 1125...it just wasn't the bike for me. just curious if anybody had any regrets.  good luck with all of your new bikes and safe riding! | ||

No regrets at all. Just to ramble...I love this bike more than any sportbike I've owned...GSX-R600, 750, 1000, 1300, Kawi ZX-10R, Ducati 749S, 1000 Sport Classic, Buell XB9S. I missed my XB until the wifey bought me the 1125r. | ||

I missed my 03 XB9R up until my 1125R was broke-in. I miss, just a tiny bit, the low torque, gas mileage and sound. Then I screw on the wick for a second and forget all about it. There's nothing to be missed when you gain almost 50 HP!!! Zack | ||

I had my XB perfect for me, the suspension was just right for my weight. I got the exhaust sorted on it. I loved that bike. I don't regret selling it, but I imagine I will in a couple of years. The 1125 is good, but it's not my bike, yet. I'm sure I will be able to get it close, but sometimes I wonder if it will ever come to be as good as I had my XB. | ||

I miss every bike I have ever owned. Each one has had it's own unique character that becomes a part of you. It's always painful to part with one. But then again each bike I have owned has always been better in some respect than the previous. It's been almost 6 years since I bought my first XB, it's time to move forward, and the 1125r is a leap ahead for me. The 1125 still has a similar handling 'feel' to the XB, so I guess the new bike shares some characteristics that make me think it isn't a COMPLETELY different bike. I try not to look back too much, the 1125r is one awesome motorcycle. | ||

Interesting question you are rising there Shawn. In my case I am not missing anything because I kept the XB9R and the S1. I won't part with the S1, but might part with the XB9. I'm not sure yet. The 1125R is a better bike than the XB9 in all respects except fuel mileage. That's irrelevant for me since 8mpg drop does not matter. The 1125R delivers so much in power to make up for it. Actually after pretty near 3K miles on the 11, I would say I could part with the XB9. But I don't have to so I probably won't. | ||

kept the xb12r and the xb9r. the 12 might go, but the 9 will stay. it will probably even stay before the 1125 if i have to make that choice. my mind may change over time though. | ||

I miss the instant grunt tooling around town. The fuel mileage is a bit of a disappointment. I do miss the Harley sound, but most of all I miss the styling of my 12R. I think I am going to hold on to my Firebolt for a little while anyway because they are just different. | ||

I feel a little guilty that I don't miss my XB9S more. But I'm having too much fun on the 1125R to really care. It is a very different machine and there are qualities and personality traits of the XB I really liked. Bottom line is the 1125R is a better machine in every way. I didn't think I'd ever say this, but I have more fun on the 1125R than I ever did on the XB. I do have nostalgic sentiment for th 9S, maybe once I get passed the "OMG what a machine" new bike feelings, I'll miss the old bike more. | ||

I once thought that my XB9S was the hands down perfect bike for me.... I now believe it was made to prepare me for what is now THE PERFECT BIKE! I can't get enough of this thing (1125R). It is freezing, raining, storming, snowing, freezing some more and I never miss a day to go for a ride. It is easier to ride in inclement weather than the V65, GL1100, XB9S and all of the other bikes I've owned. JJ,,, I don't miss any of them other bikes! | ||

I thought I would keep the XB, but they are really different machines. I don't feel like I can jump back and forth and ride each bike to my potential...nor do I want to at this point. Plus it may be a bit hazardous as the 1125 requires plenty of throttle control compared to the XB where you can basically grab a handful in most circumstances. I got on the XB today and the 1125r makes it seem like a toy. Really small, no power comparatively speaking, less refined, less gadgetry. The XB will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart as it is my first "real bike" and a wonderful bike at that--but I don't see myself missing it much. | ||

For what it's worth, my 2 cents are as follows: The 1125R didn't impress me enough to make me want to ditch my XBR. To be fair, no bike I have seen thus far except perhaps a Ulysses has. But it's not going to happen any time soon. I like the 1125r, just not enough to make the switch or even as an additional bike. | ||

My son did me a big favor and lent me the money to buy the bike so I gave him my ulysses but I can still ride it, so I guess I got the better deal all tho I will be supporting him threw college. Mike |
