V2win: I can only imagine how disappointed YOU were...Ferris was SERIOUSLY bummed... as was I, and I'd never even corresponded with you before. We were really looking forward to meeting you both. Still are. I have to apologize for one major oversight on my part. I should have photo-documented our three hour teardown session w/ FB's bike after our trip thru the chip seal in the Panamint Valley. Also, I wish I'd gotten a photo looking out over Owen's dry lake from the top of the eastside of the Sierra ...as we enjoyed the cool of 10,000 feet after the 108 degrees in Death Valley. Ferris was just shaking his head and saying "Jeez, I wish those guys could have been here to experience this." So, let's just assume that this is a delay, not a cancellation. Dino |

I was at the Dealership all day today. I got there early and started putting the new lungs back into the "Beast". All is done and I beleive the operation was succesful. Racerboy showed up just as I was finishing up. He road it down to a gas station to fill the tank. When he came back, he was all smiles. Mumbling something about a "stud cycle". As soon as I am sure of it's reliablity, Racerboy and I plan on doing some 2-3 day rides down into Arkansas this summer. They don't have the mountains that you have but they do have lots of tight 30-50 mph curves. I think one of the first organised Buell rides was there. Anyway, my bike is back home, seems to be well, and I am feeling better about the situation. (see recent post in the SLAB section). We WILL make it out that way someday. Later, John |

Speaking of our mountains...I came down from the Yosemite area on Sunday riding thru much of the terrain, and on some of the same roads, as days 3 and 4 of the Cal BRAG Tour. When I got home I emailed the route I'd just been on to Ferris. If I interpreted his response correctly, he was offering me the very same finger as did you. Trouble with having roads like this is that tires don't seem to last any time at all. Bummer! |

a little quiet on my end, sorry, have got the front-end off the VFR replacing the D-shaped steering head bearings and polishing the fork sliders (Dino, you KNEW i couldn't leave them alone, right? :-) V2Win, my new bud Dino Dave is absolutely right, we DID miss meeting and riding with you guys, and altho the toasting to you's that night at Furnace Creek started MUCH later than it should have (due to the aforementioned chipseal-caused VFR teardown--*&^%$#@!), we did manage to do damage to a coupla Sam Adams in your honor. S3Dave, great pic of the Buell-support vehicle! Vik, i STILL need to find time to comment mo'betta on your pix, ESPECIALLY the one of Sparky's pal Officer Friendly there in Three Rivers. finally, back to V2Win: are you daring me to ride to Arkansas this summer? Ferris, Not daring, but your sure invited. That Dino guy too.(the one with two fingers up his nose). Last time we went to Arkansas was a great time. Bob and I have not set the dates yet. Let us know if you can make it and when is best. Got to go now. Going to ride the "Beast" to work. First ride since its latest lung transplant. |

damn lucky for FMJ that i wasn't there at Vallejo's track day, as his resultant SECOND-place finish woulda made him FIRST loser! but, there IS something Jim is very good at, and he's doing it in typical FMJ-style (outloud and proud!) in the above pic ride to harass and annoy and generally piss off, FB |

V2win: It would almost be worth the ride to Arkansas with Ferris just to see how he'd pack for the trip. Near as I can tell his idea of soft luggage is the inside pocket of his Joe Rocket jacket. Uh oh, do I sense the Fickle Finger of Ferris saluting me from Lake Isabella...again? Hey, it's not my fault Honda doesn't make luggage for the viffer. |

Well since we in the "entertainment" industry always refer to stage position from the on stage perspective. I could understand your novice mistake. No really, I flubbed and wrote the discription incorect. Your lucky I was able to remember any of the names. BLAKE I didn't recognise you from your Badweb handle, where you on the BRAG Cali. ride? If so do you have any pictures....? FredX1 (Eureka CA.) |

Hey Pappadog, I am glad I got there 2 minutes after the conclusion of the act, that song always chokes me up!! I hope you sang the french version it has less words and is easier to remember. I am just now trying to learn the Indian national anthem, my employer called me while we were in Tahoe and asked me to take an assignment there ..1 month on, 1 month off. They are supplying heavy duty sunglasses and leadlined coveralls in case things do go sideways. I leave tomorrow. If I can survive an 8 day Buell ride through CA with you guys, a mere nuclear confrontaion should be a cake walk. More later. |

ps to S3Dave: the only way you made it thru the BRAG deal in one piece was by making up some lame-assed excuse of mechanical problems and skating on Day 3!!! just kidding, just kidding! (but it sure woulda been fun to have you along for ALL the festivities) |

Thanks Ferris...I'm proud to rate so highly! I work hard for it. I'm still bummed about S3Dave missing Day 3...I'd've liked to have seen if I could still stay with him when he's running with air in his front tire! |

BTW Ferris: 'bout them fork sliders. You wouldn't be polishing those babies in an attempt to distract FMJ with flashes of reflected light in his rearviews thereby slowing him down to your pace...would you? |

Hey Blake, In the dark, all of us bald headed dudes look the same... Well, we WOULD have sung Oh Canada, if we'd only known anything other than the first two words to the song. Well, that, and the melody. So instead, since there were five of us dudes, we had to to a best-of In-Sync medley....man, can that Fred dude croon, and Bobby's got more soul in his pinkie... Anyone else planning on uploading more pics to the sacborg FTP site? I'm gonna put mine up there right now. Al |

Ferris, There are two, and only two, reasons that I wasn't the one leading the pack on Day 3. In the exercise below (similar to exercises you may have done in elementary school...if they had schools when you were that age) you match one entry in Group A with one in Group B to reveal said reasons. Group A: Skill Level Sanity Level Group B: Too High Too Low Submit your solutions to this exercise to me via email for grading. |
