Still haven't got a chance to ride much but I have noticed that after just a few minutes on the bike, my wrists feel like I'm on a sportbike and my "guys" feel like there going to sleep. You know, tingley, and not in a good way. I suspect that the handlebars might be to far forward, but I don't know. Is there a right way to adjust the handle bars or is it more trial and error? Right now they appear to be about in line with the forks, if your looking from the side. I also noticed that I feel like I'm riding forward on the seat rather than toward the back as I would think by looking at the seat. |

How tall are you? How long are your arms? If you are shorter with shorter arms, you will have to lean forward to reach the bars. You'll also tend to sit on your nuts. You may need a riser to move the bars up and back. I would try the risers from Precision Engineering: http://www.preeng.com/xcart/product.php?productid= 5&cat=0&bestseller These are fairly inexpensive and will help you to know whether you are on the right track. If you need more rise, you can move on to the Rox Risers. |

Do you have the 08 seat? I sat on one at the bike show in Phoenix and noticed the same thing. It was due to the seat been sloped upwards in the back. Is the 07 seat the same way? |

I HATE the 07/08 seat. Others love it. It is too narrow at the front. When I sat on it, it was like straddling a split rail fence. I could completely understand how your nuts would go numb on it. Here's a real cheap option to see if it will cure your problem: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BUELL-ULYSSES-STOCK -SEAT-2006_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ35566QQihZ01 4QQitemZ330207828824QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW For $50, you can check it out. If you don't like it, sell it for $50 and get your money back. |

I wonder if the low seat for the '06 is the '07-08 stock seat. I would like to try another seat out. First, I'll try pulling the bars back a little. Perhaps I could sit on a few others with different seats at MB. |

The '06 low seat is not the stock '07/'08 seat. There is an excellent post here by M2nc and Ulywife showing all 3 varieties. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show.cgi?tpc=142838&post=760948#POST760948 (Message edited by florida_lime on January 29, 2008) |

Chris - we still have our 06 low seat. If you're going to MBV, we can bring it along for you to try. Of course, it's the sexy Orange one! Florida_lime ended up with our 06 stock seat. The 07/08 seat works best for M2nc and I love it as a passenger. |

Chris, I am running the 06 aftermarket with gel padding low seat and I have another low seat I believe 07. I will bring both to the MBV as well if you would like to try them out. Lol, she beat me too it... If you can't find Ulywife, look for me and will set you up. |

Chris I am 5'11 with extremely long arms and still had to buy risers to get the handlebars in a decent place. My hands always went numb after any lengthy rides, but I always felt it was due to the stock bend being in too far causing my hands and wrists to be at an uncomfortable angle. After my experience, I would suggest the ROX risers and straighter bars to really relieve the discomfort. |

Just talked to the dealer. $111 for a '06, $109 for a '07. he also said that the '07 and '08 are different part numbers, therefor he assumes a different seat. I guess that I really need to try out any seat that I could find at MBV, so if you guys bring them, I will be greatful to try them so that I could buy the right seat for my seat. Thanks for your offers. |

Chris - my understanding is that the 07 & 08 seats are the same. Who knows. Either way, I'll bring the 06 Low and you can try it. So sense in spending $$ on seats you may not like when you have a chance to truly test ride them for free! We should be in Thursday mid to late afternoon. My cell number will be on the MBV Roll Call Spreadsheet. Kristi |

I'll be working at the demo table from 9-5 Saturday. If Slowride wants to, he can leave his seat with me for you to try as well. We can lock all the seats in my truck while you all ride. |

I posted this on the Quick Board but will repeat it here. I will be there with my lowered Uly for those who want to try the XT fit if one of them doesn't make it down for a demo. |

I've had troubles getting into the comfort zone on my 08, too. Just like a rocket bike, it is only really comfortable at speed. The one thing that really throws me is coming to a stop on a steep downhill grade. Feels like a super stoppie. At the risk of too much weight on my ass, I'm trying the risers. |
