Personal interest????   Tripp Posted on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 - 04:26 pm:        according to all the folks around the shop the torrington bearings are the way to go, they use the torry's over the oem for all the jobs here. eric, and jim inquired recently about the braided (black) brake lines, they are available to us from either russell or goodridge, and can be cut and assembled here free of charge. the lines run from 20-40 bucks, all i need to know is banjo bolt size (10 or 12mm) and the angle 35 or 90 degrees.   Damnut Posted on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 - 04:30 pm:        Hey Tripp If you can get one that matches the front XBR brake line in black then I will take it as soon as you can make it. I'll bring my back brake line in as soon I take it off. I am not sure I want one of the shop guys making me a front brake line. Sounds like a disaster looking for a place to happen...I've seen what Shop Monkeys do to bikes.... I also use the Russell lines, Top notch stuff. I usually tell the speed shop the length and let Russell build it. Any interest in pooling money together to purchase some of the more expensive tools and toys for the group to use? One item on proposed list is a wide band O2 sensor - great for datalogging and creating the 'perfect' map for your bike but VERY expensive. I think I have a place for the perforated steel, still looking for the steel wool sheet...Can you measure up that perf'd steel you had in your basement so I can get the right gage and hole size. Not too bad for $...depending on the thickness of course but I should be right around $30 for a 12x24 sheet of 304. I have my Deutsch connectors on order (2 of them - 1 for pc, 1 for palm). Didn't order the cable yet. I found somebody on Buelletinboard that built the cable for the palm and is working well so i'm waiting to hear back from him in case that cable comes from the same place. Anything special once I locate the correct size hex the swingarm pivot is,or will that drop it? Thanks   Ducxl Posted on Friday, February 01, 2008 - 07:35 am:        Kevin,i had my frame off of my X1 last year.I have the special swing arm bearing tool.While you're down,now is a great time to do swingarm bearings.They're cheap too. You should also do headstock bearings. That is a good reason right there to get the wheel off, Get new bearings and use Anti-sieze on the axle when re-installing. do the belt while in there and any other little "maint." things. Last thing you want is to be doing it again while riding weather is in full swing...... A lot more money than what your looking at for maintenance. Take the EASY way out and do it all...or hear about it forever!
