Will there be more Inside Pass track days for 2008? I'm chomping at the bit to ride an 1125R as are a few friends of mine who poke a lot of fun at me for riding a "Harley". They would like to sample the 1125R as well. |

I am hoping so. It would give me a chance to learn how to use my 1125R. |

The new Fuell magazine has a blurb about the return of Inside Pass for 2008. I'll be at any events at Barber !!!! . |

Cool! I checked the website a few days ago and didn't see it listed under "Events". I'll check again. Can't wait to schedule a day or two. |

Sure would like to do another of these track days, I had a blast both times last year. I'm hoping to bring my brother next time. He's been a CBR rider for a while now and my tube framed bike is a bit raw for him so I want him to try the 1125R. Maybe he'll catch the fever too. -Mike |

Troy, If you wanna practice on a track, check out: http://www.elitetrackdays.com/ and www.advancedmotorsports.com/ (couldn't get link to work so I called and they said new website with trackday schedule by Feb 1) Advanced Motorsports is a Ducati gig, but Jeff Nash (cool guy) has allowed Buells to join the Ducs at their trackdays in the past. They hold most of their 'days at Motorsport Ranch in Cresson (the same track as the Inside Pass last year). Elite will be having theirs at Harris Hill Road, a brand new track in San Marcos. At Ft. Hood, you're about halfway between 'em! Also, if you ever make it down to Austin, we have Buell night every Thursday eve at Opal Divine's Penn Field 'round 7:00ish http://www.opaldivines.com/pennfield/index.html You can check out our goings-on at: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/hellbuellies/ Hope to see ya! Its sad to say that the Buell/Inside Pass events will NOT be run by PTT this year. Buell should have dates up soon, they've decided to use STT instead. (Message edited by shred on January 26, 2008) |

Wonder if Anony can shed some light on the schedule? I've got my MSF teaching dates, so now I am ready to begin booking my track days. |

For those of you in the Wisconsin area, there will be an Inside Pass at Road America on Tuesday, June 10th, 2008. Hal's H-D/Buell will again be one of the sponsors-just filled out the paperwork yesterday. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man, my job sucks! LOL BudC |

so a question arises is the coolant that is "stock" in the 1125R OK to use for track days or will it need to be flushed out and replaced? |

This is Wisconsin, I'd suspect the coolant has antifreeze in it, I'd suspect you'll have to change it for a track day if the track day requires certain fluids or if the track day track prohibits antifreeze in the coolant, but I'd suspect you should wait until someone who knows for certain answers the question. But with a bike getting crated up for shipment and being loaded into an unheated truck when this morning's temp was below zero, I'm thinking/guessing I'm close to being correct. |

Neb25- There is going to be a private track day for the 25th on July 4th but it will be at Blackhawk Farms just outside of Rockford, IL. It's about an hour south of Milwaukee and will be for Buell owners and 25th Anniversary attendees only. There is an additional cost for the track day but I don't know how much yet. I will keep you posted. It should also be posted soon in the Owners section of Buell's website. BudC |

Bobup, Here are the "Bike Preparation Rules" for the Track Day: 1) All bikes MUST pass technical inspection prior to admittance to the track. If your bike DOES NOT pass tech inspection, you will NOT receive a refund. 2) Tires and brakes must be in good condition. Tires should be at least 75% of new condition. Any tires that are bluing from excessive wear will be disallowed. Slicks are allowed in 85% plus condition. We will have on site tire service at each track day, so if your tires don't pass, you will have the opportunity to put on replacement tires to pass tech. 3) All glass, headlight, turn signals, and plastic lenses must be taped over or removed. Side mirrors must be removed for the advanced group and at least taped over for all other groups. 4) We recommend, but do not require removal of center stands. No bikes with center stands will be allowed in the Advanced/Racer Group due to the ground clearance issue. 5) All machines must have an operational handlebar mounted kill switch/button and self-closing throttle in good working condition. 6) Advanced and Intermediate group riders MUST use water or water wetter or a non-ethyl glycol based anti-freeze/coolant. Approved Poly Glycol brands are: Evans, 7th Gear, Liquid Performance, and Engine Ice. NO AUTOMOTIVE ETHYL GLYCOL BASED COOLANTS ARE ALLOWED. 7) All valve stems must have caps. 8) Wheel balance weights must be well-secured. 9) License plates must have bolts taped or be removed. 10) Added for 2008 season: Advanced riders are required to safety wire drain plugs, oil filter and oil caps. yeah I had read that already the 1125R handbook doesn't exactly state what the coolant is, just what to use....a HD part # |

The HD coolant is anti-freeze/coolant, so I imagine that it would have to be replaced with something that is not glycol based. I'll be at Barber with CaptNemo!!! |

It really does work. I used to run plain water, then I added Watter Wetter. That lowered temps. The Engine Ice works as well as the Water Wetter but it also adds anti-freeze qualities. |
